I just can't wait to see Crabtree and Boldin line up on the field for the first time. It's been a long wait for Niner fans. Something tells me Mannningham will be the forgot dude who's going to get alot of catches.

sadly i dont know how true this is. he was playing in arz and made a stink about money when they chose to pay larry first instead of him. basically forced his way out of arz when at the time they had a pretty remarkable 2 year run with their core group. he did land in a good spot in baltimore, but at that time he was willing to land anywhere who'd pay him.
Boldin is an all time pro. And I mean professional. He performs for pay. He will prepare and perform but he wants to be paid accordingly. You take him at his word ... this is business! The blast CBA taught us this. The deal would have to be one with guaranteed money just like what he has this year. 2 years $11 million would be a reasonable offer. No frills no workout bonuses no incentives. He will want a straightforward guaranteed deal. Perhaps even a 3 year $15 million. If he wants more we have to consider that we still have to pay Crabtree. But 5 to 6 million is about right for him

The offer will be there for him no doubt. IMO, he's better than Crabs.
I just hope we can sign him before he hits free agency
It'll be entirely up to the 9ers. He knows what he's worth, he knows his value. If the niners try to cheap out on him, he'll walk and I can't blame him one bit.
They should keep in mind how horrible they've been at drafting and signing free agent WRs
Exactly. I hate seeing all the WRs we passed up get their success this season. Might as well keep what has been working for us: Q

i see how flustered he got in arz and how he said he'd retire before taking a pay cut in baltimore. i WANT him back i'm just a little more hesitant that the fans who think its a slam dunk. i dont think it is, he'll want money and we're pretty tight with it these days as we got a lot of guys to be mindful of.

yeah, if it comes down to either/or...i'd much rather invest in Crabtree for the long term. previous to this season, Boldin had always been my favorite non-Niner player ever since he played thru that broken jaw in AZ awhile ago. dude is a warrior and has arguably the best hands in the league. hopefully we can figure out some way to keep him for a few years.

Being able to play outside AND in the slot could be key for us next year esp. if we develop another outside threat with some speed and big play ability (stop laughing). Manningham is another topic here as well.

I think we sign him 2 - 3 more years. Kap Aldon and Iupati won't break the bank now so we can probably pay him and Crabtree what we need to. I just know it will be guaranteed. We need proven veteran WRs for our young QB. Crab and Q would be a nice start plus QP and the draftees
