Goodell is the worst thing that could have happened to the NFL.
You got to be fist f**king me. From the article on the main page saying Brooks doesn't want anyones money. So let me get this straight (I don't remember the Brooks hit on Rodgers). But Clay appeals his fine of an obvious late hit out of bounds, something that the NFL is truly trying to get out of the game, and gets it reduced to 7k. Yet Brooks doesn't?
This league is beyond gone.
Brooks said he will appeal the fine on Tuesday. He lost an appeal of a $12,750 fine earlier this season after he was called for a late hit against Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
It's not about player safety. It's about public IMAGE. The Brooks play LOOKED bad. It LOOKED like a dangerous hit.
The play above actually IS a dangerous hit. No flag of course, because soccer moms think Ahmad Brooks did a worse thing, and that the NFL handled it right. These rules are in place to placate the soccer moms, and maybe some clueless lawyers, not to protect the players.
