I feel like I'm watching our old offense when Alex smith was playing

alex has small hands

How are we better?

9 - 0 > 6 - 3.

6 completions, 10 completions, 92 yards and 1 int.

Some examples of stellar Kaep games this season....

Alex beats playoff teams and Kap only plays against below average teams

I sure haven't seen Kaep or the 49ers beating many good teams this year.

The last time Alex put up a nearly identical statline was 2006. Under this regime the most similar performance statswise both resulted in wins over Seattle, so those don't really apply. Maybe the 140 yards he put up against Baltimore two years ago but that was against a very good D, prime time game, on the road with tons of hype due to the Harbowl...or that loss two seasons ago against Arizona...either way none were as bad as what we witnessed today if we're being honest. I hope we get it straightened out quick, I believe in the staff and Kap but he has not looked good this year.

This. One thing I am sure of after 2 1/2 seasons, Roman has no business being an offensive coordinator in the NFL, don't care if anyone disagrees but this guy has been reliably horrible in games against better teams, can't wait for this guy to be gone.

Good run game coordinator, clueless in the pass game. Even when our QBs have had success, there was never consistent rhythm throughout the game.

Let's give credit to the Panthers, Colts and Seahawks D's. Kap is still young and he needs to learn how to adjust. Our Coaches need to learn how to make on the fly adjustments to help the O because too many times we either stick with the gameplan when it ain't working or we try to get too cute and go away with things that are working. Maybe Alex is better now (I'm a big Alex fan) but he too went through his growing pains early in his career trying to make the big play instead of taking what the D is giving him.

They ALWAYS fail to adjust, seriously, this is nothing new, every game against a good opponent we're back to the same issue. If the gameplan isn't working, they double down on it, if the gameplan is working, they'll inexplicably get away from it such as in the Indy game.
f**k Alex Smith...He had like 8 years to be average and is still a game manager....Kaep will be fine....The team will be fine....damn

Alex Smith is a proven winner except in games before the SB

If idiot catches 2 punts we go to the Super Bowl that year no doubt. We had a lead in the 4th quarter of the NFC Championship game.

check the stats bro it wasn't

Sus...you should check the stats....ALex last year for 9 games vs Colin this year...it's not close.

Again, we should not be having this conversation. Split milk..it's worthless to say we should have not let Alex go.

Yes. And you can also say Kyle Williams who was far more costly in that game. To fumble not 1 but 2 punts in the 4th quarter and overtime was absolutely devastating. Giving the Giants like 10 yards to go. Short field. What a joke.

Scheme is entire basis of this argument. It all goes back to coaching and their failure to adjust. They basically have similar players to us across the board

WRs
9ers = Boldin and everyone else
Chiefs = Bowe and everyone else

TE
Davis and everyone else
Everyone else but for Alex TEs are his best friend so he is making Scott McGrath look elite

RB
we are actually better here IMO having Gore and Hunter
Chiefs just have Charles

Both teams have elite and I really mean elite defenses

We just have terrible offensive coaches and yes this is directed at everyone involved in our offensive game plan from Harbaugh all the way down to the "consultant" Mangini.

This, there is absolutely no comparison in quality of offensive playcalling when it comes to Reid and Pederson vs Roman, Chryst and the rest.
