Quinn may be the defensive player of the year. 2nd in sacks, most hits on the QB, most forced fumbles. He's SICK. Add Long to the pass rush and the rookie speedster Ogletree bird-dogging Kappy, this is a serious pass rush and run D.

The Rams' secondary is not very good. But, then again, the Niners are last in passing. Rams play soft, let the small stuff go, and make O's defy the pass rush over and over on consistently long fields.

Rams special teams is playing lights out football. The tackling is vicious. Hekker leads the league in net punt yards average. Greg the leg almost doesn't miss and won't allow a kick return unless you're foolish. Let me put it this way, the Colts fans were cheering their return guy for kneeling it. Tavon is returning both punts and kicks and is 5th in the league despite a horrible start due to penalties and piss poor blocking. He's a threat to score every time he touches the ball in any position.

The niners have a physical and stout running D. The Rams, over the last four weeks, have the best run game in the NFL at 5.6 YPC.

I don't think most Niners fans have a good grasp on what the Rams will be bringing this time around.

I'm not making a prediction but any hope of a gimmie should be set aside. This will be a battle. Niners by 9.5 points? I don't see it.

At the risk of being obvious . . .

If the 49ers play defense anything like last night and the offense plays clean . . . they'll be 8-4.

If the Rams can rush for 150+ AND go at least +2 on the turnovers they have a shot.

I don't think they'll need the +2. Niners are 30th at O. If there were no turnovers, I think Rams win.

You may be underrating what the Rams O and special teams are capable of on top of the run.

Yep, stats. 8th best vs 30th best.

So have the 49ers....its funny that you feel your team is the only team in the league making steady progress or trending in the right direction. You might be, but guess what, so are the Cardinals, so are the 49ers, so are the Seahawks, so are the Saints, so are the Panthers.....long story short, yes you have a cute little team but youre still not as talented and you still have huge holes all over the place. Youre 2 years away from being a legit contender....maybe.

What holes besides the secondary?

Last year Harbs/Niners slept on the Rams at the stick, then they snuck up and bit us in the azz (TIE)... Harbs is full aware of Pornstache's tendencies and will not take the Rams lightly. IMO, after the game, they will just return back to "same old sorry" Lambs
.......stats are for losers. Baaaaaaaaa, Baaaaaaaaaaaa!!

20 for 153 and a TD...thats a 7.6 ypc average against the rams last time they played.

Yes...because the difference between the Bears and the Niners is 69 yards per game. Meaningless statistic. Your two big wins were vs. the 23rd and 25th ranked defenses. The Niners two most recent losses were against the 5th and 3rd ranked defenses...still a meaningless statistic. I'm not saying the Rams are not a good team...It's like the guy with an ugly girlfriend. He thinks she's a 10, but she's really like a 4.
I'm honestly SO scared for what Kellen Clemons and the Rams O will do to our poor Defense :(((((

LOL get that garbage out of here

And the time before? And the time before that?

Let me tell you what I remember from before game one. I remember a LOT of Niners fans predicting 15-1 and 14-2.

Let's get real here. Rams are on fire and the last time we played in Candlestick...remember?
they cant have holes all over the place if they score 80 points in 2 weeks no matter how bad or good the teams they are playing are.

in the parity era every team has a couple glaring holes and it just depends who they play each week if the match ups work or not.

you say because the Niners beat the Rams badly before they'll do it again but I doubt you want to believe the SeaHawks will trounce the Niners like they did the time before ?

that said I bet the Rams beat the Seahawks in the last game simply because the Seahawks will lay down and rest starters before playoffs LOL
Even if Crabs isn't 100%, he's gonna be a 4-star stage prop on Sunday. People didn't relay the fact that Manningham wasn't probably gonna be 100% until the Skins game (in the first place), and Kap targeted over 5 receivers last night (guys that weren't just named Boldin or Davis) on many short-to-intermediate passes, with workable touch. -Imagine Crabs at full speed. Yeah, we're making the playoffs.
