from what i recall from his playing days at Penn State was that it had to do with a death of the family member. I believe it was the death of his father.

the father he knew his whole life wasn't his biological father. He didn't find this out until after both the man that raised him died AND his biological father was killed. His mother kept if from him because his real dad was a deadbeat. The other guy raised bowman and his older brother like they were his. So it was hard on Bow to find all this out after the fact that both men were dead. He said it made him love the man that raised him even more, knowing that he raised him like his own the whole time. Also made him wish he found out about his bio dad sooner so that he could try to form some sort of a relationship with him.

Well said...and the purpose for doing the E:60 (aside from being cathartic) was that he wanted people to know who he really was. Pretty emotional. Willis' story and now Bowman? You can see why these guys play with so much heart every game...true leaders too and terrific role-models. You listening Aldon Smith?
Trippy part: while he was visiting his half-sister for the first time and relatives, she was outside showing him where his dad was gunned down by a neighbor he was fighting with...and that neighbor just happen to drive right by so Bowman met him eye-to-eye. The neighbor got off on self-defense. He was able to see some pics of his dad and he looked just like him AND he was a football player as well (good one). And IIRC, this all happened last year...dad dies from a simple blood clot after a broken ankle/surgery and then found out that he wasn't even the bio dad. Crazy!
