Ray might be the most underrated player on the defense. Hoping he is alright cause we can't afford to lose him

They interviewed Ray Mac after the game and he seemed fine. Hope the MRI tomorrow gives good news.

I hope that McDonald's injury isn't serious, if it is, there will be trouble depending on how long he's out for. 49ers have a series of highly winnable games coming up here against the Cardinals, Titans and Jaguars.....then they have the bye week. That means in 4 weeks, there definitely will be some reinforcements coming, including Manningham, hopefully Carradine, VD and Willis should both be fully healthy, hopefully McDonald will be good to go, they'll have a chance to reload for a 2nd half of the season run.
they interviewed McDonald in the locker room on the Comcast post game show and he said he felt the bicep roll up a bit--I don't think that is a good sign

No one can say when they will return, they aren't allowed to practice while on NFI or PUP. So no one knows yet. And Seymour wont sign for vet minimum.
Geez. Then our only hope is for Mac to return. I'm still pissed about losing Ian Williams. When it rains, it pours.

Are they going to fit him under the cap? I thought I read he wanted paying.

I put my thoughts on Seymour in his thread but this relates.
I think we should forget about Seymour. He's won 3 rings he is probably getting paid by the Raiders still so unlikely he comes back just to win a ring at a dirt cheap price. If McDonald is out we would probably look at the cheaper guys like the Tukuafu's of the world and have them backup Dobbs/TJE. Could trade for a player for a pick but seems unlikely and their salary would have to fit under the cap. We could trade a player for a DL but again their salary would have to be around the other players. Just doesn't seem likely we will trade for someone. Also, don't expect to find too many starters for under 1 million and even if we did would take them weeks to get up to speed so my guess is we would roll with TJE/Dobbs and promote a PS or sign a guy who is familiar with us in Tukuafu.

I read this too - and that we're currently approximately 950,000 under the cap (not sure if that was the EXACT figure quoted but close).

With Gore looking like he could go through 2015 we don't have enough balls for Gore, Lattimore, Hunter and James after this yera. At this point if I can get a good young proven WR or DL who fits under our cap I'd go for it. Nothing against James either just think we are wasting him right now. We don't do screens, we don't split him out wide, we don't get him the ball in space plus he's got Gore and Hunter in front of him. Hunter is having a hard enough time getting carries and he's a better back than James.
Maybe someone hires Greg Roman and we can get an offensive coordinate that can use LMJ as the weapon he has the potential to be.

Add Dixon to that list.
Dixon's contract is up this season, so we don't have to worry about him past 2013.

they will not break the bank for seymore no matter how desperate things are,,, remember we never panic and we set a price on everyone. if he is to pricey, you can find a cheap body out there. who knows maybe you find a gem like we did with MIchael W. but no,, do not break the bank for this guy, if ray is hurt bad.

We have already lost one starter on the defensive line –Ian Williams. Dorsey took over Ian's starting spot and has been playing very well.
We will find out the extent of the injury to Ray McDonald pretty quickly.
We have two backup defensive linemen on the 53 man roster; Tony Jerod Eddie and Demarcus Dobbs.
We have one defensive lineman on the Practice Squad; Mike Purcell, a 6-3, 303 pound rookie from Wyoming. C
I do not thank that Carradine and Dial can be activated for at least another two weeks.
And I have no idea if they are physically ready to be activated.
The picking from our cupboard are getting a bit slim.

If Richard Seymour cost too much, how about moving Dorsey to end and signing Casey Hamptons fat ass to play nose tackle. There has to be some other decent veteran d linemen out there in free agency that can fill in for a couple weeks.
