A couple of guys from sports talk radio here in Nashville were saying they thought we looked weak and that the Titans would beat us.

Yeah thats what they were saying on the radio here...last week. All with the exception of Gambo who is one of the few non off-the-charts homers in the local sports media.

Top 3 Performers on Offense
(Locker is #1 but is injured obviously)

1. Michael Roos-OL 7.5 Has good ratings in every way possible, run block, pass block, screen block..etc.

2. Nate Washington-WR 7.0 Has been a very reliable WR for them, hasn't really clicked with Fitzpatrick though.

3. Kendall Wright-WR 3.7 Has been their most explosive receiving threat.

Worst 3 Performers on Offense
1. Robert Turner-OL -13.6 I don't understand how this guy is in their starting lineup, he has the worst ranking of any offensive lineman in the NFL. Just plain offensive, terrible on run blocking, terrible on pass blocking, about the only thing he does right is not getting penalized.

2. Kenny Britt-WR -9.1 Bad receiver, bad run blocker, bad with penalties, just plain bad.

3. Chance Warmack-OL -6.8 Terrible pass-blocker

Top 3 Performers on Defense

1. Jurell Casey-DL 15.6 3rd round pick in 2011 has been absolutely beasting this season, can stop the run and rush the QB equally well, will be the second best defensive lineman that the 49ers have gone up against after JJ Watt.

2. Alterraun Verner-CB 11.2 Richard Sherman without the mouth, terrific lockdown corner, a bit undersized at 5'10, 189, doesn't do especially well as a tackler.

3. Jason McCourty-CB 7.3 Another very good performer in a high quality secondary.

Worst 3 Performers on Defense

1. Moises Fokou-LB -9.6 Fokou is apparently what he says to his own team, he's been bad. Struggles in pass coverage and in stopping the run, has seen his snaps reduced somewhat recently.

2. Zack Brown-LB -5.0 Has improved in the past few weeks but has been weak against the run and the pass as well, decent pass rush numbers but little else.

3. Ropati Pitoitua-DL -3.2 Hasn't brought anything to the table as a pass rusher.

This is a game that the 49ers will have to win on the ground. Tennessee is outstanding when it comes to its pass defense and brings an intense pass rush as well. Their linebackers as a group aren't very impressive and have struggled to stop the run all season. On defense, their running game has struggled immensely, ESPECIALLY running behind TE and running behind Center or Right Guard, basically running anywhere to the right has resulted in an average less than 2 yards per carry.

Great post man! Should we expect this on every gameday thread?

There's never any guaranteed win in the NFL, I think this will be a tough game and the Titans will be focused to win it or it starts putting their season in a negative.

It does however bode well for us, assuming Greg Roman has no brain farts, that they are weak against the un and we happen to have a strong run game. Another heavy dose of Gore I think.

LOL!!! You would think that a team with our reputation would be accused of anything except for being weak. Yes we got away from what we do the first 3 games of the season but these last 3 games we have gone back to smash mouth and it has been impressive. To say that we are weak and soft when we have been known to run and stop the run is ridiculous. Don't let our week 2 and 3 showings fool you, we have been bringing it for 3 years straight now

Go, Niners, go!
Put a 40 on the board, please.
Very good defense and a struggling offense, I dont expect a 40...but a nice game for Frank and some play action to Vernon should rule the day just like last week. If can execute a similar game plan without the mistakes we win this....A few mistakes like this week though and we could be in trouble as they have the weapons to score enough points on short fields. We SHOULD win this game handily, but we have to come prepared and we cant have any sort of let down after winning a couple in a row.

I think the 49ers win but I see a lot of us are selling this Titans defense short because of how bad Fitzpatrick is playing. Their defense is underrated and don't have a lot of confidence in our passing game right now. If the Titans offense actually pulled their own weight that defense would be even better and get more recognition. Keep an eye on Jurrell Casey in this game. He's a monster and just keeps getting better. Wish we had hog up front like that.
I agree I think it will be a defensive battle and we will run the ball and play action to Davis. Don't expect anything from the WR's with them having 2 good CBs and 2 good safeties. According to Titans fans Griffin is playing a lot better this year after a horrible year last year. Also, we will need the defense to get us turnovers from Fitzpatrick to help the offense out. Just have to win, even if it's ugly. We do that and we have a great shot at being 6-2 heading into the bye.
i will be at this game. cannot wait. first time to nashville. got my larry mahan hat ready.
