He's a lot better, though.

It is. The Roger Goodell is expected to hold a press conference on that soon. He's the one who's ending it...

world is being penalized for spinning in the moon's face, that's an unsportsmanlike planet penalty

He'd have to be.
I hope we can draft him. He's a better passer than Colin. Very strong arm and he did run a Pro Style offense before Pat Hill was fired. They now run more of a spread offense. Good kid and a very smart guy.

Harbs can develop QB's too. In Harbs we trust.

We have to be patient with this team. Fans have to remember Colt McCoy is our other QB. We don't have the luxury of Smith and Kap last year.

If we had another #2 guy then I am all for benching Kap. Since Colt is out other QB, we should not bench Kap. I've seen what Colt is capable of and that's not too many things.

In the past, we had the luxury of benching a QB when they sucked. I am all for benching Kap but not with Colt.

Your point is absolutely right, but it is not so much about patience rather we simply just don't have a choice cos we have such a useless back-up in McCoy.
just give up on all hope. makes it much easier. that's what i'm doing this season.

Kaepernick doesnt look like a NFL caliber quarterback at the moment let alone a hall of famer.

He sure looked like one last year running a more traditional offense. Hmm. Wonder what's changed...
Broncos started 1-2 last year and then went on a ridiculous winning streak. Then again, CK is no Peyton Manning, and we don't have their receiving core.

I think you've lost all perspective. Please go back and watch all of his previous games again, or at least try to remember them. He has more talent that almost any QB in the league and he's not even had a full season of starts. Brady, Manning and Brees have bad games. Yes, he's in a sophmore slump but it isn't just on him. No receivers, OL not blocking well, defenses have figured out our offense and play calling sucks...This is one of the most distorted, short sighted and reactionary posts I have ever read.

Backup QBs are backup QBs for a reason. Almost ALL teams could say the same - that the backup is not very good. Does anyone know who Peyton Manning's backup is? How about Drew Breeze? Eli Manning? Aaron Rogers's backups are both 49er throw aways.

This topic has been a theme among 49er fans this year and I don't understand why. Maybe it's because for many of us, our H.O.F. QB's backup QB turned out to be a H.O.F. QB himself? I think I'm understating it when I say that this sort of situation is not common.

Relax guys. We have a great team. Adversity is good. It builds...it strengthens. We'll be ok.

Hmm. Kaepernick was our back up last year. Brees used to be a back up as did Rogers, Young and even Montana.

By the way guys, there is always BJ.

Surprised how many people have turned on Kaepernick after two rough starts. I'm only watching on TV, but from what I see, our second-rate receivers are covered and he has nobody to throw to. He does seem to have happy feet now, after getting hit more than before. He also seems hesitant to throw balls away, and instead, wants to create magic on every play. I think as he matures he will learn to manage that better.

In the meantime, I don't understand why we don't dump off to running backs more or run some screens/bunch formations to help create some space. And oh yeah, run Frank the Tank more.

I definitely hear that, I definitely believe Kaep needs more time and I don't see it is a fair situation in which to judge him by. I see a secondary issue with the WRs also, whenever the ball is thrown to them and hits them in the hands, they seem to have an issue in catching the ball also. I think this also is a confidence killer for a qb, aside from not being able to get open. I think if Harbaugh wants to win this season, they need to put the hard hat on and really figure out the issues. If they can right this ship, this could be a tremendous confidence booster for them. They might need to go back to the hard nosed football that they ran when Alex was the starting qb and win games the old way, until their WRs and TE come back.

You sure? David went #1 overall.
I realize that people here are only partially serious....

....but being even partially serious is NUTS.

Even with his struggles, 20-25 teams in the NFL would take Kaep over what they have right now.

This is the kind of stuff that gets our fans called bandwagoneers.
