Yeah, because it is someone else's fault besides Smith. Wake up!

The CBA does not require Aldon Smith to actually PLAY. The CBA prevents teams from punitively "suspending" a player according to all the rumors floating around.

The technical term "suspension" might mean something specific under the CBA (i.e., relating to forfeiting the game check etc.)

However, there are other managerial options available other than a "suspension." Every week players are deactivated. Every week players don't get in the game despite being active.

The 49ers clearly didn't fear the almighty CBA when Dobbs had his Fri drunken car crash last year. Dobbs didn't fly with the team to the game in STL.
Who cares really? I don't mean to be crass, but It's just not that imporrtant if the 9ers want to get Aldon in to tthe game as opposed to Dobbs a year ago.

There's a lot of ways to argue it, and it could mean they are hypocrites. I can swing with that.

But, the important thing is that the issue is being handled immediately and it's time for the kid to take responsibility for his own life and get back on track. I'm glad we're in the process of doing that.

I had posted earlier today about talking to someone whom told me due to the CBA aldon had to play today before the team could offically come down on him....
so since nobody addressed my question about him being allowed to play per the CBA... i did a little research via google... this still dosent answer my question as theyre just speculations but it seems the whole playing today because of the CBA thing might be true.

can someone please relay this to all the s**t talkers on .net saying were classless and shouldnt have let him play today to begin with.

id sign up and do it myself but ive got a business to run in 5 hours and need sleep.

Who the hell cares what they think? Marshawn's attorney is too busy pushing his DUI trial date back, but they conveniently turn a blind eye to that.

Let's focus on ourselves and move on. The December rematch is months away, they're not important right now. We need to think about THIS week.

I only care b/c I don't like BS being shoveled onto my plate. Their excuses are fishy. Other than that meh. The decision was made. They have to live with it.

Maybe you should stop underreacting? This is the worst stretch of Harbaugh football. Our premier pass rusher is in drug rehab. Kap is is disorientated and undercoached. And were on a short week to St. Louis and possibly 1-3. We're closing in on a quarter season of football.
Our last two games we have been outscored 56-10, you have to go back to 2004 (2-14) to find a two game stretch equally as bad.

I think the 49ers did the right thing. As long as there is some sort of progress in helping Aldon rather than a simple punishment, then the decision is positive.

i think they or JH bungled it. he should never have played sunday. he should have went right to rehab and get the kids in there to see what they could do for thursday. york did a better job than Jh did after the game. Jh looks lost to me in regards to handling on the field and off the field issues right now

the problem extends beyond the bad humiliating losses, its the way the team, and coaches look 100 per cent lost out there. its like they have no clue how to fix any number of problems you want to talk about.. going away from the run when it worked, ck, his wide outs, the defense terrible tackling and to many mistakes, the kick return game which is horrid etc etc

No they didnt make a mistake, kevin lynch first thouht they did also, but after the game it made more sense. By playing Aldon they showed to him that he has all of there support and comradery to help him beat his problem. Which can be very very crucial when it comes to addictions. Everyone who has a problem wih that including ditka, beat writers and all the fans stuck on there moral high horses can ead.

Right on. Gotta be proud of the dude for doing what's right for his own life. He needs to look out for himself and not us fans and our selfishness.
Is he going to rehab for drinking or drugs? Everyone drinks and smokes weed, just seems kind of stupid

Not everyone gets two dui, a possesion charge, two car accidents, a bar fight, and have a party where there is a stabbing and a shootout, in less than a two year timespan. (probably other things i am forgetting as well)

Aldon is making the right decision. Im proud of him TBH.
