It's as simple as that... we CAN NOT compete w/ Seattle if Harbaugh continues to make this game a personal each time he faces Carroll.. This is the 1st time I saw our team since he took over not to have a freakin game plan.
It looks to me that he wanted Kap to be a one man show.. a Jordan like star.. We had so much opportunity in the 1st half that we shoulda been leading by 10 or so.. too many cute calls, and our OL was not used to its full capability..
What we need to do now is to get back to basic.. Starting by goin back a pro set offense, pound Gore over and over, give Hunter or his back up some time.. run some bootleg instead of running that PISTOL formation full time..
Out secondary look so stiff, that I swear, it seems like we were using 4 Strong Safeties out there..
But this lost is actually good, had we beaten the Seahawks by 10 or so, we woulda been feelin invincible for the rest of the year... This actually should leave a bad taste in our mouth..
Keep us hungry..

I have to agree. We need to immediately ditch the Pistol and get back to the WCO. Run plays under center. It's not working anymore. People have to remember last year we brought out the Pistol in the playoffs. It's not going to work anymore. The NFL is a very progressive league.
We were much better under center.

We can't run out of it the last two games. It's not fooling anyone. We need to much more of a traditional team WCO.

The pistol isn't the problem, its the option. We are relying on it to much, and its hurting not helping.
Let's get back to how we ran in 2011, physical, straight ahead and keep ramming it down the opponents throat.

Kap needs to be able to run the O from under center.

It had nothing to do with any of this "personal" BS.
The team can't hear the playcalls, audibles, & adjustments at the line in Seattle. It isn't complicated.

But they had MONTHS to prepare for it. It's not like it was some big surprise that Seattle was going to be noisy. That's what bugs me most about this 49ers team -- the inability to correct obvious shortcomings:
* Getting the ball snapped in time
* Fixing the secondary
* Handling noisy situations
These have all been glaring problems going back to December 2012.

the 49ers had the wrong game plan, the 49ers gave up the running game early in the game.

If we're using a zone blocking scheme (where each linemen has a set zone to block) then yes it does have something to do with it.
We're not playing to our strength on the o-line. This line is built to pound the crap out of opponents.
Switch to a man blocking scheme, stick Kaepernick under center and line GoreHunter up behind Miller. Be physical and dictate to the opponent what you're going to do.

The Pistol is just a formation. We could run a WCO out of the PIstol if we wanted to. For this game we needed to spread them out and hit our receivers off of fast developing 3 or 5 step drops.
Instead you had Kap holding the ball too long.

They definitely should have prepared better. Agreed without a doubt.
