gotta get past it. we once won that 'owens owens owens' game where rice clearly fumbled pre-replay. fumble was clear as day. the outcome was great for us, its still talked about today, but next to nobody mentions how it was won and the major blunder by the refs. fans only remember when they think they got screwed, not when it works in your fav.
thats the point. nobody cares when they benefit and try to act like its payback, but want to scream bloody murder when they feel they're done wrong. i feel for those of you who really feel the refs conspire against certain teams. must be really hard to watch the games. i stopped watching wrestling when i found out it was pre-determined.

Seahawks of today are probably a little bit too early, and I wonder if salary cap and free agency type things will prevent it from being a rivalry that's this fierce for many years to come.
However, I'm loving it right now.

Easily the Seahawks most hated rival! This Lone Niner fan was 'Rainy' on the Cheathawks victory parade this afternoon!

Also, if we are putting in 2011 Giants. Might as well include the 1998 Falcons

For me its the present day seahawks. The pack and boys crushed a lot of years for me as a teen but I dont remember it really coming off the field. This seahawks team is hated because the way they act as well as there fans. Their fans talk about the 49er fanbase being classless yet I was at the game when they flew a banner over candlestick and I saw them throw popcorn on bowman and its no mystery why carroll left usc right before the trouble and now has had numerous players pop for peds. That whole organization is classless

Hate those Packers. Bret Farve beating us on the last minute heave as a Viking really sealed it.

All-time it still has to be the Cowboys...can't recall how many times they derailed Niner teams from getting the NFC Championship. The Seattle thing's hot now, but over time it's definitely Dallas.

Only actually twice 92 and 93 (unless you are mentioning 1971 & 1972) but those 49er teams were head and shoulders above the rest of the league.
Packers:
95 (but not SB caliber team, Derek Loville starting RB)
96 (again, not SB caliber. Lost twice to Panthers, Terry Kirby starting RB)
97 (This was definitely a SB caliber team along with Denver)
01 (again, not SB caliber. Jeff Garcia at the helm)

95 was definitely a Super Bowl caliber team, especially when the backup QB Elvis Grbac rips apart the eventual champions

This is the only time I felt the 49ers got knocked out of the Superbowl because of an injury to ONE player. If Hurst didn't break his ankle....... Ugh

I know what you mean but ultimately it was just a regular season win by the 5-4 49ers over the 8-1 Cowboys. We needed the victory much much more than Dallas
Were we one of the Top 5 teams in the league? Yes. But I think we were this seasons Panthers while the Cowboys and Packers (on major up swing) represent SF & Seattle I think GB wins that divisional round game atleast 7 times out of 10.

All those foes I respected. I disliked them, but only because they were good and posed a threat to the Niners.
The Hawks I hate with a passion and have very little respect for. Team full of cheaters, who need help to match up. They are incapable of just doing it with their play. They need a stadium, questionable calls game after game, coach their players to cheat daring the refs to stop them etc...

70s cowboys and 70s rams.
Actually, the 70's rams were really tough to take. They were so much better than us, and they shoved it in our face every game. Really hated those guys.
I hated watching the cowboys beat us with roger, but in the end they had such great hofers on the team you had to respect them.
The rams with hadl the youngbloods McUtcheon Dryer Haden jaworski -- yuk. It makes me nauseous just to think of those guys...
