I really like Lavelle Hawkins on special teams he makes more yards then LaMicheal James

Hawkins has made an impression for sure. You can tell he really wants it.
james sucks as a returner anyway, he always looks like hes gonna drop it. id rather have hawkins or cox back there

James is a disaster waiting to happen at return man. He dove for so many catches in the preseason. It's just a matter of time until he fumbles. Then we got another Kyle Williams back there. Lavelle Hawkins is so much more natural of a punt returner. And he gets way more yards and big plays than James anyway. Why would we not keep Hawkins? At least as a 5th or 6th WR and a return specialist which he is clearly good at and better than most on our team.

Hawkins just plays with that swagger that you love in Receivers. I think he has his work cut out for him if he wants to make contributions in the passing game, but he's exciting no doubt. Get him on the 53, put him in the return game, bring him in 5 wide sets for a few plays a game...

Hawkins was the Titans return guy for a hot minute if I remember correct...and he was pretty darn good.

Our return guys are shaky but I trust Hawkins. And he can be a 5th or 6th WR at least.

Hawkins and Cox look very confident returning kicks/punts. I trust them the most.

Way more than LaMichael James. The guy dives for catches. He is Kyle Williams in the NFC Championship game (LMJ). He will kill us somewhere. I really want Cox and Hawkins. Cox is such a good CB and an excellent return man. Hawkins is a very good WR and a tremendous return man. We could use those guys. I don't want LaMichael returning anything. Not Kyle Williams either.

Cam Johnson.

Like it.
Maybe not a surprise in the fact their position groups are pretty set, but I have to go with Lavelle and Cam just with their surges at the end.
I don't get why LMJ was such a dynamic returner in college but he sort of sucks here.

The yips... Seriously a lot of his issues this preseason come from pushing too hard. Even as an RB he is doing to much to early, needs to hit the hole and go, save the moves for the second level. His return game is the same way, making the first move in his head before he catches the ball. Just needs to calm down and he will be fine.

Still I would keep Hawkins he is like Ginn on the return game but a little more useful as a Reciever. Agree with most here the Hawk and Cam need to stick.

James has been disappointing, except for last year's return at NE I can't remember much. Like you say SanDiego, he dives for catches. His kick-off returns are never past the 25 yard line. He seems to be getting smaller and smaller.
Should have just kept Ted Ginn as a 5th or 6th wide receiver. He's a better return man than anyone we have. We never really utilized his speed. Dude is fast as s**t.

Anyways my two surprises are CB Darryl Morris and LB Nate Stupar. Also Cam Johnson better make this team after that performance he had last night.
Lavelle Hawkins > Moore and Baldwin.

Cam Johnson > Nate Stupar.
