Absolutely. Plus, BJ has far more composure even as a rookie than McCoy will ever have. McCoy just can't read the defense and makes bad decisions.

since you seem to have a handle on the other 31 4th string quarterbacks in the nfl,, could you please tell us if any of those guys have come close to the body of work and the results BJ has done so far in pre season?

Wow, Rascal, Colt didn't read the D on one pass where the LB faked a blitz and then dropped back? Colt also threw a ball 3 ft high to an open WR. Ok, Kap made mistakes in going 1 for 8, then settled down...exactly like Colt did, protecting the ball and leading the team to a score on a time killing drive. Not protecting the ball? who the heck were you watching? Not colt, that's for sure.
I don't understand why there is so much resentment and open hostility towards Colt...he did have almost a season starting at Cleveland, with no coaching , no O of any kind. He couldn't make it work....neither could weeden, but he was drafted higher, so he played...not well, mind you , but he played. Colt's last drive consumed lots of time, good ball handling, good passes on the run when pass protection broke down, and he looked like he knew the playbook...looked like he belonged. Tolz looked like he belonged last yr. Bj is just an exciting talent, but doesn't look like a QB ready to come in and run the O, like colt did. The fact that JH left him out there 2.5 qtrs., just tells you JH wanted to be sure his pick for backup QB could really run the team....and guess what? He did. You guys are barking up the wrong tree, and are going to be really disappointed when your guy isn't the backup. But that is reality, folks. And Colt will do us a good job. Good arm , accurate, good runner, good decisions...what else do you want?
Personally it would be nice to keep all qbs. Basically we keep two and one who can play other positions, eg, BJ. Seneca, I think is some kind of JH ploy, but I got no idea what. Sadly I think tolz is out, and I know he could start in NY land. It would be even better to keep all receivers...but we can't. So some go, some stay. Those that don't like colt will, ultimately, so get ready.

I thought that McCoy showed some composure when he led that touchdown drive, a long drive, after throwing the pick earlier.
In his career, McCoy has not made the best decisions, but Harbaugh has shown some magic in being able to get the most out of players who are not playing up to their potential.
Harbaugh has worked with McCoy and Daniels at practice. Hell, Harbaugh has actually talked to both of them.
He has studied film with them. He has seen their progress on a daily basis.
|n essence, I have read some reports about them and watched them play in three preseason games.
Harbaugh is one of leading experts on NFL quarterbacks; not a reporter, not a pundit, a verified expert.
Compared to Harbaugh I am a rank amateur. Whose evaluation of quarterbacks is a reasonable man going to accept, mine or Harbaugh's.

And you cannot say BJ has beaten McCoy, because preaseason games are not the end all be all. What happens in practice and in meetings also play a factor in all of this. You called McCoy a pick machine and claimed he cannot protect the football a few pages back or so to which I responded directly to and you ignored. You never seemed to factor in McCoys previous playing experience in Cleveland, when you determined Colt could not protect the ball.
Your logic and reasoning come across as lacking and somewhat biased.
I see.
OK, you want to talk logic right ? You are trying to quote his Browns experience as substantiation that McCoy is some stud of a QB right ? So, if that was the case, why did he get cut ? 11 picks in 2011 right ? And he threw 3 picks in 3 preseason games right ? I don't know about you, at least mathematically it seems to suggest he has regressed. Plus, a TD ratio of 14 TDs to 11 INTs is nothing to brag about. Brandon Weeden is better than him by a mile.

I know Alex isn't a strong piece to use in an argument but wasn't he like 1-11 his first year

I didn't even know Alex Smith was 1 and 11. But, seriously, I don't want to go there cos there are a fair number of Smith fans here, so I would rather refrain myself from criticizing his game cos I am in the other camp that wanted him gone.

Under the circumstances, I would guess is McCoy and BJ. Wallace has probably wasted a trip unless Harbaugh is happy to change his mind on McCoy or if he is willing to sign Wallace to the practice squad cos BJ will never clear waivers. Or if he cuts BJ, I would be extremely pis*ed.

I do not think McCoy got cut. He was drafted by the Browns and played there until we traded for him.
You might have meant benched, which is not the same as cut.
edit: Who has ever claimed or even implied that Colt McCoy is a "stud of a QB.?"
I have not seen anyone, as far as I remember, making that claim in this thread.

Wallace can not go on the practice squad. He has played in the league for almost ten years.
He has started around 450 games.
If Harbaugh tries to put Wallace on the practice squad, the NFL is going to require Harbaugh to take a concussion test.
