What better way to spend the preseason than boasting and bragging before having achieved anything? We can move polls like this there.
Our backups have scored one touchdown in 8 quarters. Our special teams have performed worse than poorly. We're not doing much until we can execute with our bench and stop the ST bleeding.

The Seahawks need a spanking, not just for the immature ranting's from their players, not just for the belligerent comments from their fans, but for their extreme delusions of grandeur in naming themselves the "Legion of boom"!
Do da widdle Seahawks make a Boom Boom?
Yes, me think da widdle Seahawks make a boom boom!

I also think it's hilarious that Seahawks fan's disguise themselves to troll other teams fans sites. Pretty pathetic.

Remember how SingleCell would go into tortoise mode as soon as they had a lead, even with three quarters to go? JH isn't silly like that, but he will grind it out if he thinks he can. He will pull Gore and sometimes others, play field position and rely on the defense. So, not as many blowouts as there might be, maybe 3-4.
The season will be tough, with many close games. Even the great Niner teams of the past, three deep at every position and coached by Walsh, had to work awfully hard to win and often did not. There are lots of huge and fast millionaires on the other teams that are not going to be run off the field.

BUT,
"in 8 quarters" of preseason football
Preseason = highly predictive glorified scrimmages

Sure, I get that. No one's pushing the panic button. I'm not. But the point is, we shouldn't be fantasizing about the season either.
Two trends are bothering me:
1) Special teams play. It's disturbing. I have all the ST plays from KC if you want to see a bulletin of them. Frankly, it's grim. IMO, we need to rearrange our regular practice schedule NOW to give the ST's way more time than they have been getting. IMO. This problem will not go away without more practice and cohesion.
2) Offensive Playcalling + skill position explosivity. I am not really really upset about this but we could pick it up a notch in the booth. I understand the vanilla playcalling with green recruits. It's an ok thing to do. Just, try a little harder to be successful please. Read the D, react to what's there. I think we can do little more of that with the 2's. That's ok. That's football too. I'll just point out that other teams 2's are scoring in the preseason with drives, big plays. Not us.
But, hey, who needs to listen to BrodieBlueBanaGrinch. Let's start measuring the ring finger for super bowl jewelry. Let's have a poll! How many 49ers will drink champagne after the SUper Bowl victory, how many will drink Kristal!
Poll it up!

Lions went 4-0 and looked great in preseason a few years ago
that was the year they went 0-16

The Lions and Raiders probably had dozens of threads just like this on their bulletin boards speculating on how many playoff victories they would enjoy, whether they will win the championship game by 20 or 30 points blah blah blah.
See what happens when you jinx things? Abandon this thread.

I am not as optimistic as some here. I predict an 11-5 season which will launch a good playoff run, though perhaps not to the Super Bowl. All of that depends on injuries.
My optimism is seasoned by the sure knowledge that every team in the league has spent the entire off season studying how to stop the read option. Some will do that better than others but everyone will be more ready to at least slow it down than they were in the past. That will take away some of the explosive runs that CK had last season, and the setup for other parts of the running game.
Of course the other issue is all about WR. I do not consider Williams or Moore or Collie or Baldwin to be significant threats in the passing game, at least until they prove otherwise.
All that means ground-and-pound, and those games are rarely blowouts. I could see one or two 20 point wins but most of the wins will be 10-13 point victories.
What I hope for more than anything else is no more WWL. If we can just play consistent football, being ready AT THE START of the game, I will be pleased.

Couple of warning shots:
Green Bay 1s completely shut down the Seattle 1s last night. Dom Capers is a very good DC and will have some surprises waiting that first game.
Arizona will be a much more competitive team this season. Carson Palmer, though no longer the QB he once was, is still far better than the motley crew that masqueraded as a quarterback last year. Also, Bruce Arians is a legit talent as HC. The job he did last season at Indy with a rookie QB and only a single veteran WR was quite remarkable. Though the emotions there played a part of it, he did put the pieces together and made them work. He is inheriting a roster that has more talent on it than their record indicated. I don't expect a blowout in either of those two games. Victories? Likely. Blowouts? No.
