In the Harbaugh interview, he basically noted Hunter was the #2 but has to prove 100% healthy (he's very close).

I've watched the last pre-season game 3 times now and I'm just not that impressed with LMJ. If compared to a "starting quality RB," he's average. Then factor in that he seems to lose the ball quite often (kickoff or handoff) and I just don't think he's starting quality. Don't get me wrong, he's not a bad relief guy, but I wouldn't want him as a primary. I really hope Hunter is a 100 percent by mid-season, because before he got hurt, I actually thought he was running better than Gore. I'm also excited to see Lattimore next year.
