not much?

there has been an improvement in the entire secondary that was supposed to be a weakness. he literally turned it into a strength.

He's been better. Reid hasn't surrendered a single TD or had one personal foul. Goldson can't say that.

I think it's safe to say that Vance Mcdonald will never be better than Keenan Allen. What a huge mistake not drafting Allen instead of Vance.

I would have to agree.... for now. It would have been nice to have Keenan Allen after all the WR issues we've had this year. Vance could still end up being a really nice 2nd TE. We just have to develop an offense that has real 5 man progressions.

I'm a fan of Vance, but a 7th rd rookie could have probably filled the exact same role. When you draft a pass-catching TE in the 2nd round, you expect production in the passing game. If all we wanted was a blocking TE, we could have drafted the next Nate Byham or Bear Pascoe.

If Kaep could do more than 1 read he would get more production. McDonald is open on almost every play.

That's quite a talent, to be open on pass blocking plays, running plays, and sideline plays.

Well, it is his job to find (or create through supposition) stories that people will be interested in reading.

We'll probably never know what's really going on.

If it ain't broke....

Agreed, and as Kawakami suggested it's not necessarily unusual or a bad thing that the two will disagree from time to time.
I'm astounded and confunded as to how this thread has made it to 17 pages...

Thank you, sir.
This thread survives because the stupid premise gets Zoners riled up to respond to it.

Hope not. Coaches should just coach. Let the GM find the talent.
Typical early/mid-season panic post.

This. I like how things just the way they are. Baalke is exceptional and does an excellent job storing up picks and finding great talent for us in MOST areas. Harbs is a great coach, but that doesn't mean he's as good as Baalke as a talent evaluator. But we'll see.

Could have had Zach Ertz. He now has 32 catches, 4 TDs and averages 12.5 yds/catch.

Another example of where Baalke and Harbaugh appear to not be in synch. Why move up to draft a blocking TE?
