**Update Eric Wright signed to one year deal**

bet like a magic trick the 49ers pull a passed physical out of the hat.

I think it makes them look better. They get the player without giving away a draft pick. No one here knows why he didn't pass the physical and maybe he was just out of shape and has been working hard. If he is healthy I hope they sign him.

Wouldn't this be a bit conniving in a way? This can be done to almost force teams into awkward positions.

Team A makes a trade for a player from team B, Team A purposely fails the physical so that the trade is nixed. Now the player feels alienated towards his orignal team and front office. "wtf you traded me for a draft pick? F this team, i don't wanna play for them again". Now team B is 'forced' to release him or have a disgruntled player in the lockerroom. Team A signs him without giving up a pick.
Not surprising. It makes sense to go back to Wright following the injury to Culliver. We know Baalke sees something in him, or else he would have never attempted to trade for him. If signed, I bet he passes his physical this time.
has he fully cleared waivers yet?

He should have. It takes 24 hours to clear waivers IIRC.

i fully expect half the zone if we do sign him to spin it into some machiavellian clandestine black-ops triumph by HarBaalke regardless

and he'll miraculously pass his physical this time around.

Agree
sign him and if he jacks around then cut him. Why not? We need talent at a trouble spot

we got four decent guys and a few kids and two of our decent guys are on the wrong side of 30 so this would be a good signing. you never have enough corners. part of me wants to say maybe the team will wait until after this first pre season game before signing a corner but then again if they feel this is a critical area then sign him over the weekend and throw him into the mix.

This is kind of stupid. Bucs were going to release him. We traded for him. Failed his physical. Bucs released him. And now we are trying to sign him again.

Paging Dr. Howard, Dr. Howard and Dr. Fine.
I wouldnt be surprise if he passes lol

Me neither. I'm not convinced there was anything wrong with him physically to begin with. My hunch is we failed him on the physical after Baalke did a little more research on his most recent arrest. Now that Culliver is out, Baalke might have a change of heart.
