Tarell Brown skips workout program-voids $2M salary escalator, holdout coming?

Its funny how everyone has turned into mini Baalke's and deems everyone replaceable. Brown is a special player, far and away the best CB on the team. He's not a
"shut down" corner per se, but I think hes top 10-15 in the league. Those guys are hard to find.
Why do I feel like this is a setup? Nobody would ever flush 2 mill down the toilet... Is it possible the 49ers made him do this to clear up cap space and promised him they would reimburse him?? Kind of like Eddie D paying Deion only 2 million that one year on the books when really he was making more.
I hope working out in Texas was worth it for him.

no way lol, he 10 times better.

LOL??? Brown better than Awesomemuah?

yea he is

This is highly debatable. Don't think Aso has ever played behind a front 7 like ours.
The guy chose spending time with his family over $2 million. He's a good player whose top concern isn't money. Clearly, we should all hate on him.

If he honestly feels like he needs to do different training to be better prepared for the long season, I respect him for that.

this really sounds like he wants to spend time with his fam

Brown explained to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group that he was going to leave it up to his agent on whether or not to hold out of training camp to get a new contract

He missed out on $2 million because he stayed in Texas with his family instead of staying in CA this off season.

Try to keep up.

Jed York says thank you
I see two possibilities for this:

1) He is an complete and utter fool.

or

2) He is so confident in himself and this "Wanting to train a different way because my body broke down towards the end of the season.." that he believes his improved performance will gain him more than what he lost by not training with the team as a result.

Hopefully it's #2, but I seem to remember people saying the team as a whole were the most in shape and conditioned going into the playoffs of any of the other playoff teams outside of the couple injuries at the end of the season. The team has a pretty damn excellent strength and conditioning staff. Hard to see the wisdom of him just tossing that money so he could train differently in Texas.

edit: reading the comments it seems family has a lot to do with this, that makes sense.

It's still a dumb move.

no, he ISN'T. LOL. Put Brown in Philly from the time Nnamdi was there. His success will not have been as good. Seriously... Nnamdi was considered one of the best next to Revis before he went over. Remember when we tried to get him before? You're out of your mind. Going off of his years in Philly and just saying in general Brown is better, laughable.
