1st. Great post - keep them coming.
2nd. The sky isn't falling.
3rd. We have a potentially great team. NOT a perfect team. Different teams pose different challenges and it seems to me that Seattle has drafted primarily to beat us and not the rest of the league. That said, they have our number in their house.
I could be wrong BUT it seemed they were ready and had answer for almost every offensive play we ran no matter what it was. A short pass, long pass, run - they were ready for it.
4th. TOTALLY agree that the no-huddle is an excellent weapon. Just like the read-option - don't over use it. Mix it up. The most dangerous boxers are not the one punch knockout guys BUT the one's who are excellent combination punchers. We need to mix WCO, read-option, no huddle and other creative schemes when confronted with a Seattle situation.
5th, Completely agree w.NNCommand when he wrote "We need a better OC (real WCO) and DC (more aggressive, exotic 3-4) and some better personnel." {Sorry - I don't know how to cut & paste so the lite grey block will attach to my post - help if you can }
6th. I don't have a lot of faith in Roman - way too hot and cold. I can almost guarantee he'll have an excellent plan vs Colts. Fangio is a real puzzle.
7th. Our DLine needs some quality back up soon. Hawks opened up some big holes and if Ray Mac, Justin go down we're in deep doo-doo.

In my opinion, we are playing away from our strengths to over emphasize what we have in Colin, which is backfiring big time.
When Alex was playing, he would be under center. This gave him the option of quick reads, check downs and a power running game. What this allowed us to do was move the ball down the field with guaranteed, methodical yardage that either put points on the board, or gave us field position so our defense could stop Seattles Offense. (Just like they did last night.)
With Colin, we are seeing unnecessary shots, long drop backs and stupid gimmick Pistol runs which don't work when we have 2-3 WR sets. The offense was way too complicated last night for the environment and defense we were up against.
What I think Harbaugh and crew need to do is get back to mixing in their old school smashmouth Stanford Cardinal Football, without completely eliminating the option of the big play. It is what won us games against them in the past, I think it's time we get back to playing that way, but with a little more throwing power
Beating a rebuilding Seattle team 3 times at home is not a good foundation, 3 of those 4 wins were at home, one was with Singletary and we were spread in that game. We did manage to scrape out a tough victory in Seattle (2011) but that was a very tight game. I totally however I agree with you in that we need to go back to what it was, but incorporate a lot of the stuff Kaep can do. Keep those opposing defenses on the field and have long drives like we used to. Seattle may still win, but it will be a one score game instead of a 4 score game which is just ridiculous anymore. AT LEAST IN THE SEATTLE GAME.

If we had a decent WR core we could beat seattle, but we dont. Why didnt we go after victor cruz this offseason?
The question is why didn't anyone go for Victor Cruz ? I was shocked. He might be a bit small and light for my liking, but his skills is exceptional. The dude is a difference maker. I knew we wouldn't cough up that kind of money. The kid is underpaid !! This guy is what I call a dual threat WR, he is great at the slot, but to me he is even better with his deep plays.

Did he ? I missed that. By whom ? Chancellor ? Man, the Legion Of Boom is no joke.
That's why I have always said we need bigger wideouts !! Case proven. If we don't upsize our receiving corps, their secondary is going to continue to own our receivers.
I'd have to go back but I believe it was in 4Q? I'm fairly certain that it was beyond 5 yards too. Either way, it was sad to watch. Boldin and McDonald fought hard...too hard for McDonald (penalty).
Man, I hate seeing our guys get raped like that. We really need to get some big WRs to repay the favour. I would love to see us dismantle the Legion Of Boom. We don't have the personnel now. Just look at Julio and Roddy, they can destroy the Legion Of Boom, even that di*khead Sherman had to clap to compliment Roddy's play.

Good thin for us Seattle took a knee at the end instead of running up the score even more!

Smart, no need to fuel the fire anymore than it has when they play us at The Stick.

Putting a "leash" on your best player doesnt seem like the best way to win. Outside games in Seattle, hes been a weapon when hes let loose. Dont change your plans based on one team that just has our number.

Yeah...they will probably lose this Sunday and then just give up for the rest of the season....perhaps even forfeit a bunch of games....

I agree. That was a close ball game. We unraveled down the stretch and I'm almost glad we did because it will allow us to focus on keeping our heads in the game next time.

I doubt it. I see a very focused and determined effort this Sunday.

ONE GAME people, it is just one game. We did a great 1st half job, now this team just needs to keep its composure when the dam breaks.
Couple things from this overreaction of a thread:
-Alex Smith is gone, get over it. OMFGZORZ he won 4 straight over seattle... really? Sorry but Im not gonna crown his achievement of beating Tavaris Jackson or Whitehurst, but by all means give him credit for hanging a whopping 13 points at home on Seattle when they actually fielded a decent team for the 1st time since Shaun Alexander was playing.
The only thing this thread has brought to light is that the no huddle offense is here to stay and Harbaugh needs to consider it. Manning, Brady or Rodgers are the only QBs in the league that could possibly pull off a win in Seattle when they are trying to set a f*ckin noise record because they have the offense for it. The niners dont, and they wont this year. It takes a substantial amount of effort, practice and experience to run that type of offense, and it cant be done till the offseason. Read the articles last year about Peyton Manning in the offseason, he basically spent 12 hours a day at the facility teaching his offense nonstop all last summer. So while it would be nice to have, it most likely wont be effective until they have an offseason to implement everything.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that we have issues with winning the division. Did I miss something the past two years?
