Tough for secondary to have any real success without contact for 7-on-7 drills.
Plus the mental aspect. If he's left thinking out there while offensive players know their s**t yea, naturally he won't be as fast in that nature. Not worried.
yeah, kinda funny

agree. the web zone has a long history of this type of thing. the words "it all began with alex smith" want to leap off my keyboard but I will restrain myself
I can't tell if that was intentional or you didn't think that post through very well.
Lol there was no "cherry picking" necessary when it came to pointing out the struggles of our former starting qb the last 7 seasons.

its not like he had a great support cast or coaching cast but thats a whole other topic for a whole other thread in a whole other world. going back to our number one pick, you hear one negative report out of camp and people start to slit their wrists. At least I wait to see a bigger body of work from players or aspects of the team before i break out the cyanide kool aide

Reid is having the same issues some of us saw coming out of college. Can't cover the long ball and quicker WRs.
Its too early to pass judgement. At least the problems he is having are the ones we knew about already.
The good thing is coaches are confident to let him run with the first team. That's a great sign.

Stay on topic, don't turn it into one of "those" threads.
7 on 7 is geared for the offense, not defense. Every defender will get worked during these sessions. Defense is a physical game, take away the physicality and you take away the majority of tools defenders use.
Anyone who puts stock in that POS written article doesn't know the game.

I wasnt thrilled with the reid pick because of several reasons. But he was the guy, and is in a 49ers uniform so i wish the best for him. Still wayyyyy too early for any judgment whatsoever.

Matt I've been hearing that Eric Reid has really been struggling in OTA's. Is there any thruth to that?

Just read this article. Terrible is all I gotta say. The comments at the end were calling him a bust and questioning our coaching staffs ability to develop talent. Ridiculous. 6 practices in or something. Give me a break.

One of the things I have gathered from OTAs so far is that no WR has distinguished themselves as of yet.
Colt McCoy seems to be settling into the primary backup position.
With all of the injuries that the backups are getting a lot of repetitions.
Training camp will be intense in sorting out the 53.
Lots of CBs, Saveties, and WRs that will have to sort out.
This year Harbaalke have focused a lot on special teams. Hopefully that gaping hole will be filled and filled well. Looks like La Michael James will be our primary punt returner and kick returner.
Backup Dline will be a focus.
