49ers Players that will surprise us this year

Dial is 6'5", 320 lbs with very long arms. He's an absolute beast and he may be one of the best steals of the draft.

ian williams, his modest extention wasnt worth very much but enough to say we think something of you.

reminds me of what they did with Ray Mcdonald a 2 years ago...

I think they were just building his strenth, and teaching him the position..

remember, soap didn't really start playing a lot until just 3 years ago when abrayo left...and we drafted soap a while back
rookie wise, I think Lemoniere and Patton will have the biggest impact...I hope i'm wrong, but im' not sure if Reid is going to be very good...

I agree with this whole post. I just don't see a difference maker in Reid. I do think that Lemonier will be a good pass-rush specialist.
Glenn Dorsey and LMJ
Ricardo Lockette
Ian Williams

He has a unique opportunity in that he doesn't have much competition at NT.

Mike, nobody's going to get rid of a six foot tall corner who runs a 4.4 because he says the wrong thing now and then. They'll work with him. And, if you've got a guy with those physical talents who can't find the ball in the air, you coach him up on how to find the ball in the air. So, I'm really not sure why you think he's going to regress. How does that work?

I don't remember Culliver throwing teammates under the bus. That sounds like BS. He is a good tall corner, he just needs to know when to look back for the ball. He is usually right in his guy. The coaches can work on that with him. He will return with a vengeance!
To your point with Boone, I think his RG spot is already cemented for years to come. I doubt he has any surprises left to show.

I think Ian Williams is the likeliest candidate for a Boone-like surprise. I'm also optimistic about a breakout for Jenkins.

I think perhaps the biggest surprise will be Okoye. Longshot for practice squad? Psh. I have this guy taking snaps in real games early in the season. Just watch.

I'm still not sure what's wrong with "btches and hoes."

Agreed with the OP with Carlos Rogers.

I think with added pieces to the secondary and added pass rush Rogers will be much better than what he was last year. I also think he would be much better if Fangio would stop moving him inside to cover the slot receiver, don't know why he doesn't move Brown there?
I think Patrick Willis will really come into his own this year
The Adam Snyder signing makes me think they don't have as much confidence in Looney and Kilgore as I was suspecting.

Hey 49erMike - for my info, when and which teammate did Culliver throw under the bus?

He may be thinking about after the Super Bowl. There was some question about whether or not Whitner was supposed to provide over the top help to Culliver on one of the Ravens' touchdowns. I don't think Culliver threw anyone under the bus in that discussion, but that could be what he's thinking. Whitner's responsibility on that play was evidently to cover Boldin on top and there was problem with communication.

Yes, that's the situation I'm talking about. IMO that was throwing another teammate under the bus.
