Lemon has looked solid so far. A steal of a pick for the 4th round.
this fkn dude sucks. how is he still on the team? I'll bet The Bro could contribute more on the field.

ultimately i think 4 years from now we'll all at the fact that some people thought he would turn into something.
only reason he remained on the team is because of his injury. Think it would've cost more to let him go than to keep him for the year. He'll be gone first set of cuts this year.

That guy has the same number, but it's not Okoye. This is Okoye:

What if?

See, now what's wrong with a little optimism? I like this. Same number except Okoye is bigger, faster and stronger than Bruce Smith which is kind of ridiculous when you think about it.
The ignorance in this thread is awesome!

I'm not sure if you're referring to my last post or not, but all I'm saying is that a little optimism never hurt anyone. We don't really know. He could surprise everyone and be a natural. I wouldn't bet on it, but I'm not going to pretend I know what's going to happen.

nothing wrong with being optimistic, but with a guy like this i'm not even at the point where i would list him on the depth chart of possible contributers. if he makes a few plays in the preseason or whatever then we can begin to have that conversation. but as of now its just a feel good story.

I agree with that. Like I said, at this point, I wouldn't bet on anything. It's just that the guy is such a mutant.

Quite the opposite. I'm on the optimistic but realistic side. What is encouraging is that he's playing just the DE positon in a 3-4 which is about as basic as it gets: bull rush, contain edge while pushing up field, watch for screens, slants, line up wide or inside based on the call, slant in and hold/occupy two OL to free Aldon, some pass rush, etc. He's had an entire year to understudy under THE best 3-4 end in the game (minus a couple others) in our system and the fact that Tomsula has personally devoted extra time to train him? The dude wants to be like Justin/Ray and he's even picking up on that "switch" that turns on on game days.

As to the "injury," it was just a way to keep him on the team and a free year to understudy for minimal $.

yeah honestly i hope he makes it, it would be a nice story. its just a tough sell for me right now. theres guys who've worked hard, wanted it and what not and just didnt stick in the league, and those are guys with high school and college experience.
you will all be sorry when okoye leads the league in sacks
