Pardon my ignorance, but if we put him in PS, and another team nabs him, they can't just put him on their PS correct?

What capable fa is out there who is capable of cracking the final 53?
Richard Seymour is much more than a capable FA and would be a welcome addition.

If he makes it to the PS, and he will, he can decline another teams claim. We had 3 players do just that last season if memory serves.

If he makes it to our practice squad, he's free at any time to sign with another team's practice squad or their 53-man roster.

no, a team that picks him up has to put him on their 53 man roster, they can't put him on the PS

I like the way Okoye is the first one to congratulate his teammates when they make a play. It's sincere. He is not a wanker, he's a mate.

This. Vet minimum he's due, and teams are more willing to wait out the rest of preseason to see how the dice rolls (injuries, other teams' cuts, etc.) he's basically SOL right now.

This is wrong, I believe. If it was just a matter of Vet minimum he would be on a roster already. Easily. But he's made it clear that he wants to get paid big money and he's prepared not to play if he doesn't get it. He's not crawling around hat in hand, so your "SOL" remark paints the wrong picture. Niners, even if they wanted him, don't have the cap room to bring him in.

You're right, my bad...the team has to waive the player first if a guy wants to go from one PS to another team's PS. So it's possible if the player asks to be waived and the team grants it. Other than that, you're right.

We should sign Kent Bazemore from the Golden State Warriors. He's much better at it.

Sorry, the remark is too cynical for a comeback. Kid's 21. Not some jaded multimillionaire cracked out on oxycodone. he's naive enough to mean it, IMO.

Wrong. There's plenty of zippideedoodah to go around when you 66 305 and are almost as fast as Aldon Smith.
