Bowman is taking over bowmans spot lol...MW was the mike lb (which was BOs spot) last year when Willis was hurt and Borland played the jack lb role (MW spot).

I thought borland took over the mike spot which is bow's spot and MW was the jack all year.

I could be wrong god knows that happens lol...here's a older article explaining the "jack" and "mike" roles for Willis/Bo...I thought that when Willis went down MW took over his role.

I have the same line of thought as philosoraptor. That NN article uses the term 'Jack', and admits that Jack is sometimes used to describe an OLB. I like the term 'Ted' because it leaves no doubt that it is a 3-4 strongside ILB, which is what I believe Wilhoite played all of the 2014 season as well as in 2013 when it was Bow and Wilhoite for a couple games. When Borland came in last season, Wilhoite stayed at Ted and Borland just slid into Willis' spot.

So to answer the question: Who is going to take Borland's spot (Mike)? It will be Bowman. Wilhoite stays at Ted.

Thanks for the clarification who usually receives the play calls on defense?

The ILB who is considered more experienced by the coaches. It will be interesting to see who it will be in 2015.

This, I only use the MIKE and TED as well.

Thanks for the articles I remember reading the "what is the TED" article...and yes I agree MW is perfect for that position and it's doesn't have to be a expensive FA to take on that role...it is interesting that MW also called the plays last season as well. I think BO and MW will be just fine

so, to Mike and Ted Story Short, Bowman goes back to his original position and Wilhoite will take over Willis??

Wilhoite took over Pat's spot last season cuz Pat took over for Bowman. Then Borland took over for Pat when he went on IR. After that they both retired almost the exact same time and we all cried. Now Bowman is back at his original spot from before he was injured and Wilhoite continues the same as last year.

That's what it sounds like
i really thought moody was on the roster bubble but what dockett said really made me excited to see what he can do. He might be the reason we didnt draft a ILB. I will be watching out for this guy to get that spot next to Bow

So I've been really down on this guys since seeing him get trucked and miss tackles. I'm glad to hear the positive report coming out of camp. Apparently, he was with Dockett in Miami working out all summer. As a converted saftey, he's got the speed and coverage ability. If he's bulked up and learned how to tackle, I'd be stoked (do people even use that word anymore... )

I'm with you guys, have not liked what I've seen from Moody whenever he's filled in..

but he has all the physical attributes you'd want in an ILB. And if there's one position group Baalke has nailed it's ILB.

I think Moody needs work on the mental side of the game more than anything, and looks like he'll get a lot of reps, so we'll see
Sounds like a legit ilb comp about to go down.
That sack last year...and then the flag

With his pure speed, I really am hoping that he can start over Wilhoite..
