Niners select Tank Carradine

In about two years when the Seahawks start doing this, then it will be the Seahawks
Fans saying they started this this trend just like a top defense with controlling offense

LOL!

He would have to be severely outplayed for this to happen. Just not the Fangio / Harbaugh way. But starting or not, he should get more than his fair share of snaps.
They should sub him in for both Smith and MacDonald to get his snap count equal to theirs

Yep. But he should DEFINETLY take Ray-Macs spot on 3rd down for pass rush when we go to our 2-4-5 look.

There hasn't been a precedent of teams taking players in the first two rounds then redshirting them as a staple until what we have seen here with Baalke. If it works other teams will catch on and emulate this

In a sense they've created their own farm system for football. Kind of like a minor-league for their own team.

It is the same as trading that pick for a pick the following year, except that the hurt player should be of higher quality than what a traded pick would have garnered. Plus, the PUP shields the player from getting poached if the roster is already choke full of talent. If Carradine and Lattimore both hit big, you can bet that this will be emulated by other teams. What successful thing in the NFL is ever not copied or stolen?

You're not that far off. Seahawks fans think that their FO making all these "Smart moves" to keep good players and save money in other areas is something THEY CREATED. It's hilarious. As if other teams haven't been doing that for years and years.

Baalke put the BALL in Ballin

As our boy Dilfer says "this is a developmental league"

Trent whiffed on 2012 but otherwise has pretty much nailed everything. 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014 drafts are going to make this franchise going forward.

4 out of 5 dentist choose Trident

4 out of 5 drafts aint bad

Walsh whiffed a few times too

Damn straight. I'll take 4 out of 5 any day. If we keep that up we'll be a powerhouse for a very long time. Those 4 drafts have been incredible.

Obviously the jury is still out on 2014 and 2013, but they look amazing, and we know for sure Eric Reid is a stud.

The WZ actually has been pretty good at assessing the drafts. 2012 looked sketchy at the time, and to no surprise was the worst of the bunch by a mile. We had the same feeling in 2008.

2010 and 2011 were all-time great drafts. Almost impossible to do better than that.

Walsh and McVay blew a few lol

They nailed '79, 81, and 86.

They made GREAT other picks in 85 (Rice) 83 (Craig), McIntyre, 84 (Rathman), and 82 (if you want to include Bubba Paris versus Blachard Montgomery or Gary Moten LOL).

lol yup. Everyone has a few stinkers from time to time. It's OK when the track record is so good. Walsh and McVay did their fair share of good work. Baalke is quickly building an impressive resume too.
