he was supposed to be our replacement for Ray Mac as a 3-4 DE , now he is going to be a 3-4 rush OLB? ..this better net some results , we need a pass rush badly , Lynch cant be the lone rusher getting heat on the QB again , the rest of our pass rushers need to show up this year

260 or 296 lbs, it wasn't the reason why he couldn't get some playing time..
It was repeatedly reported that he couldn't learn the plays as a DE..

A few thoughts from 49ers practice: Tank Carradine is much slimmer, working mostly with OLBs, as expected.
If he's down to 272 already, he'll be in the 265 range by the end of TC. Perfect!
Hope tanks finds his way this season. Feels like we still don't know what we have with this guy.

He's been pretty solid whenever he's gotten to play, just that he's hardly gotten to play for whatever reason (the prior staff's irrational obsession with TJE mainly). I'm pretty confident he will do well enough to warrant keeping around for another contract as a situational pass rusher.
