Justin Blackmon make the Jags an offer almost 200 receiving yards today vs Donkeys.

Would you rather pay Crabs or Blackmon Top 10 money, because 1 of them would get it or need to to keep him. Blackmon has a 5th yr option for top 10 WR money.

Also, I can't wait for trade deadline to come and go. So sick of trade ideas, we dont have cap room. And it would be stupid to trade for a WR when we have 2 guys coming back, and need to retain Boldin and Crabs long term.

I brought him up before out of just curiosity/desperation before and not that he is even being shopped. Well this year his bonuses would be already paid and we'd owe him a little more than half of his 1.2 mil so he would fit this year. Then next year he's making about 3.7mil which is doable. Are you talking in 2015 he is do about 4.3 which is doable too. So the 5th year option for top 10 money would be 2016? I was more looking at a rental for 2014, 2015 and then go from there depending on how both are playing than I was saying hey we traded for Blackmon let's extend him for 2016, 2017, 2018 right away. I was more hey let's make a push these 2 years and see where we are then. Just because we trade for someone doesn't mean they have to be with us for long term. I mean let's say the team went after Nicks which again these are all long shots I'd rather trade for a guy like Gordon and Blackmon (again who knows if available and for what) who are signed for 2 more years than a guy we are renting for 1/2 a year. Also, I know we will likely hold out and hope Manningham is back to his old self or close to it and then hope Crabtree is too. I'm not sure we can expect those guys to come in week 1 and be up to speed. Could take 3-4 weeks to get in game shape. I think Crabtree put on some weight (not knocking him he couldnt walk for a long time) and I'd be curious to see if he will be close to game shape. Not to mention Boldin and Manningham are FAs after this year. So it's not like we are set for the future; there is some uncertainty. Again, very small sliver we trade for any of these guys but doesn't hurt to inquire. I'd rather have not enough balls to go around and deal with it than have 2 targets. Anyways, was just dreaming on Blackmon, would take a 1st and then some I'm sure. I would have got Gordon 3 weeks back with say a 2nd and some sort of conditional pick back if he gets suspended.

Boldin doesn't need to be retained long term, and we have know clue how healthy either guy is going to be. Probably won't he til next year that Crabs is 100%

This is the way I feel. If he want to get paid a vet minimum then sure but otherwise we need to get explosive at WR. Committing money to a guy that has to use his physicality to get open is not what I had in mind.

It's doable. But I'm not sure the FO would want a rental for 2 years. I like Blackmon, but he has issues too. I;m torn. I didnt mean to upset anyone with my statements. I just see it as tough when we have so much to worry about with others needing extensions 1st. But I forgot Blackmon was a 2012 1st, and not 2011. So 2016 is the year, so it's possible. Is it likely, probably not, I dont think they are shopping him. If they did, I would do a 2 or 3, like with Gordon.

Shouldnt of said long term. I mean a 2yr deal, 5M each. He has earned the right to be that much of a WR. He needs help to get open. He is the only threat at WR. Baldwin finally showed up more. Williams and Moore are garbage. Patton is hurt, hoping Mario can take some pressure off of Boldin. But to say Boldin is a vet minimum guy is a slap in his face. He is a solid #2 WR, and a good #1 WR for some teams. Even Brady would love a Boldin now. Sure Flacco would too.

I know you didn't and I 100% understand where you are coming from with not wanting to give up say a 1st or 2nd an then after 2 years let the guy go when we could have had a rookie for 4 years at less money. Yeah, was me just being desperate though and curious. Wouldn't hurt to ask but yeah I don't see them shopping Blackmon for less than a 1st and then some and I think Gordon is off the market baring a 1st round offer. I think the Browns would be wise to keep him since they are right in the thick of the wild card and division race. Best they have been in a long time not sure I'd tease the fans and then start moving him. I think Richardson was just a 1 time thing... I don't think the new guys were happy with that pick from the old regime and were glad to get something back out of him. Anyways, I get where you are coming from we all are getting pretty trade happy when up until this year in season trades were very rare. I don't know maybe the NFL is changing but hopefully it doesn't get like the NBA where there are a million trades and guys get traded again before even playing with their new team.

If it wasn't apparent before, it is now after last night's performance. Kap is not a game manager type QB, his tendency is to make big plays. If you want to get the best from him, you will need to give him weapons who can stretch the field, go up to get the ball and handle DBs. These are 6'3"+ 220 lbs physical and speedy specimens we are talking about. To get him to play from the pocket, check down and run the ball, not only will it be a complete waste of his talent, it will limit the 49ers' success.
If you rewatch yesterday's game, Vernon essentially played a deep ball WR catching back shoulder throws. TEs don't usually do that. Imagine if we had two legit WRs who can do that ? Even when Mario and Crab come back, they won't be able to contribute in this area much. Mario is just too small, while he might be OK with some teams, the moment we send him out there against the Seahawks, he will just get killed again. As for Crab, he is a possession WR, he is just not built to play the deep ball.
So, what does this means ? Simple, we NEED legit vertical WR help !!
Personally, I want Josh Gordon who I believe is the best at the job of those rumoured to be out there in the trade market. But, since Joe Banner has come out after Chudzinski in absolutely denying they are shopping Gordon, may be they are not afterall. My view is they might want to, but trading Gordon away on top of Trenton Richardson might just be one move too far for the fans to handle. Unless that is if they keep losing like they did yesterday, then there might still be hope.

I am going to be optimistic.
Manningham should start practicing this week. He should be able to play in the game against Carolina on November 10 at the latest.
If he plays against Carolina, he should play the last eight games of the regular season. His presence really should improve the passing game.
My understanding that Crabtree has to be taken off the list he is on by November 19.
With any luck, Crabtree would be ready to play against Seattle and would be playing in our last four regular season games. His presence will help our passing game.
Entering the play-offs, assuming that we are going to make the play-offs, our starting wide receivers should be Crabtree, Boldin, and Manningham. I expect that Williams and Baldwin will be the back-ups.
That does not sound too bad to me.

Don't forget Patton, he has a shot if he gets his foot healed right. Also dont be surprised if Kyle is cut. I would take Baldwin over Kyle any day. And Patton over Kyle too.
