McDonald has got butterfingers.
Actually improving every yr and was our only real receiving threat last yr...he didn't have butterfingers last yr
Yeah, but when he drops them it looks like he never caught a pass in his life.
I have no idea what that means lol...I mean if you want to dwell on a missed catch vs the panthers from yrs ago that's fine...show me all the missed catches from last yr? He's improving which is a plus.
If this is the pass where Kuechley seemingly knocks the ball away, and Vance is about 4 steps upfield...look at that frame again, carefully, and you will note that Kuechley actually had Vance's left wrist and forearm pinned against his body, and Vance couldn't get his hand free to control the pass. I was sure that was pass interference or holding ,but it never got called. It was a great defensive play, but Kuechley WAS holding.
That was a game winner if completed. One of many controversial endings that went against us that year. Would have gave us home field advantage

Oh I know I saw it...people see what they want and it was clearly a PI or just a damn good play by Kuechley, but people tend to dwell on that play. He's gotten better, might not be a pro-bowler but imo he's a fine TE

Vance blocks quite well for a "move" TE. Maybe thats his best contribution for the team.

We need as many good blockers as we can get.

Looks like the Ravens just lost Pitta for the year, perhaps career. I'd be calling them and seeing which one of, "McDonald, Celek, or Bell" they might be interested in. Seems like a good opportunity to start clearing out our log jam of TE's that are potential roster crunch losses. McDonald I don't see getting cut, but if they offered up for him, then I'd move on from him. Ideally, I'd be looking to move Celek or Bell just to get what we can, when we can for them, because they most likely won't make the 53 man roster.

Or they can just sign Barnidge, since he's a Free Agent and a much better player than McDonald.

but that doesn't benefit the 49ers
why would they do that to us?

Barnidge has been declining heavily. If Barnidge is so good, then how come no one has signed him, yet teams were calling us asking about McDonald in trade? Weird? They could just sign Barnidge for a million or two, but instead would rather look to trade for a guy making 2-3 times that?

Chris Matthews
Celek isn't probably even worth a sixth. So it's a 7th,Matthews ,another body or we possibly end up releasing him anyway .
Would you move Vance for a 4th&6th?

Celek has a cap hit of $2.5 million and Baltimore has $3.5 million in space...they'd need to up the draft pick for either guy to allow us to take that cap hit imo...Chris Matthews is garbage and doesn't belong in the discussion for anything imo. He's not even gonna make their roster
FYI we got a 5th for derick carrier who's done even less than celek
