Celek I think we could get like a 5th round pick for, Bell is a mystery but perhaps we could do something where we trade Bell+ a 7th for a teams 6th round pick? It's not much value, but moving up a round is good.
Good assessment, but i would like to able to keep Celek and Bell too. I think all our current guys are potential starters, but how could you tell anything with the coaching we have had the last 3-4 yrs.(yes that includes harbaw's last two yrs). I see talent, great blocking in all, but agree Celek and bell are the cuts, just based on comps with the others.. What i am afraid of is we turn them loose and then a good coach, say a Kyle shanahan-like, gets hold of them and they suddenly turn into instant starters. Still it would look a tad odd wth 6 TEs. You got the right cuts but if they end up under a good OC/HC, i think they show their talent. What that means is the guys we ARE keeping are pretty darn good. Last yr, one of the solid parts of our team was TEs. Turns out we could improve on that, ie Paulson and Hikutini, but still it WAS really our only strength.
If we cut Celek and Bell, it means our TEs are just a stronger group, once again...upgrade over one of our high points last yr. And THAT is good news. When you really like both your cuts from they same position, the position must be pretty strong. Great blocking TEs in the league...well, not many great ones. We happened to have had a stable full. Not saying they were the best, but overall we had the best group of blocking TEs of anyone. Note i didn't comment on catching ability...but i thot all did well considering the crummy QBing the last two yrs.
As an aside, under Kyle, our TEs will impress this yr, as will our WRs, despite the fact we have no #1. Also considering we don't have a FR QB either, the passing game this yr will be awesome. Might as well put Eye Chart (OW, the Juice Check) in there, as he was a 40+ receiver last yr. You know that will be duplicated this yr. I think Kyle's passing game will show every guy on the field(ie, those making the 53) will be incredibly good...again with NO #1 WR nor FR QB. Passing game is going to be a case where the OC/HC makes the receivers look great.
