I think Vance speed would be better utilized in Shanahans offense.
No question.
This. Hopefully we can get another TE like Bucky Hodges from Virginia Tech to pair with him. Shanahan would have a ball with those mismatches in the middle of the field
Yup, that would be fun to watch.
This is a fantastic year to get a tight end. Even with the addition of Paulsen and having Celek on the roster, we should not ignore the talent in this year's class. It would be a failure in my opinion not to try to add one from this class, especially considering Vance and Celek both have had some injury history and Bell's development has seemed to stall.
Shanahan has stressed the point that at the end of training camp, you want the talent level on your team to be high enough to where you're cutting players that are legit contributors in the NFL. I love the mindset and want to see us do that. Even though I'd be sad to see some good players go, it's important we take the best players we can when we have the opportunity to. The team needs all the talent we can get.
Cutting Celek/Hamm/Bell wouldn't be the end of the world, and we might not even have to cut them, there's always the possibility of a trade for a late rounder. Again, at the end of the day, we need to add as much talent as we can.
