I am not bothered by it, but I knew it would upset some people. I do think his attitude is a bit immature, but then I tend to agree with his point about wearing what he wants. However, in this era of football with all the media coverage and exposure, the fact of the matter is you can't do, say or wear what ever you think you want. If you want to be a saint and good inspiration, taken seriously and the organization to back you up - to be the face of a franchise as some put it - you have to maintain a good clean image, and this fiasco taints that image. Maybe he's not up for it, maybe he's not that serious about it, but if he wants his fans to think so he would best start acting like it, he's got a good chance to come away with some Superbowls, the prudent course of action is to soak it up and do anything to improve your notoriety.
I guess the point is, It's not everyday a quarterback like him gets behind a team like the 49ers. If I were his advisor, I would personally tell him that he may think he can wear what he wants, and that he may not mean anything bad about it, that he likes to accessorize, but it means much more to the people, the loyal fans who cheer and support him, and for that reason, out of respect, I recommend you just represent your team and don't wear gear of the opposition.
As for you out there who keep complaining about his pants, its hardly that bad. It's not like some people in the hood do it, a lot of people have their pants sitting low like that, sometimes pants tightened around the waist is uncomfortable.
