The Browns have dealt QB Colt McCoy to the 49ers.

Great move. We flipped #164 for #173 (a "trade down" if you will) and also gave the Browns what is effectively a Mr Irrelevant pick, #227. I read the cap hit is 2.3mil for one year, which isn't bad at all for a young veteran backup with genuine starts under his belt. Basically it's decent insurance if Colin misses a couple of weeks in the season.

I'm still worried that our defence needs attention and we're basically out of cap room, and I suspect we'll swamp DL and DB with draft picks hoping that a couple at least help out.

I think the hit is less than that actually.

When the player is traded the bonus accelerates to the original teams cap.

If I'm correct (AB?), ONly the base salary would count against the cap and I think that's 1.5 Mil.

he should pick #11

Smart move. Veteran back-up with mobility and familiar with a variation of the West Coast offense.
I say he takes Akers #2.
This should have appened on the year he was in the draft! its been a few years coming but always knew Colt McCoy was a Niner!

He counts 1.5 - good move for us.
Solid move
Feisty as heck and a much better QB than was seen in Cleveland, they just didn't have much together there.
