WTF. That ref was right there. That is a blatant head to head hit and it is illegal. If that was Goldson that would have been flagged. We should have won that game despite that obviously. But that is just another example on how this game was not called correctly. And it was called in favor of the Ravens.

an even more obvious should be call was on the safety punt. One of the beat writers counted 7 blatant holding calls. It wouldn't have made a difference but it just shows that they weren't calling anything. Which to my understanding, goes against what their job description is.

here are the 2 most obvious. ridiculous.

would it have made any difference? No. Doesn't change the fact that it should have been called.

jim fkd up not telling his team to do the same on the free kick return. then again, i'm pretty sure suddenly the refs would wanna start calling s**t.

Actually it could have foreced the free kick back.. giving us a chance to fair catch it and possibly a long FG ?

Karma

In one hit, the player went head first into it and saw it coming. In the other, he did not. One hit was legal, the other was not. Of course, the Saints hit would now be a penalty on the RB.

IDK. I think the fact that the safety was intentional changes nothing. It would've just been holding in the endzone / safety followed by the free kick.

you're right.
Bottom line the 49ers had so many plays that could've won the game, including 4 downs at the 7 yard line at games end. If the Ravens miss one of their crucial plays they lose. So in the end the 49ers didn't take it away from a less athletic team. You'll never see a Super Bowl loser again with a 300 yard passer, a 100 yard rusher and two 100 yard receivers.

yeah, probably right..the penalty would have to be on the free kick to force the yardage back.

let's not forget the possilbe PI on Roddy White in the NFC Championship game that wasn't called on Bowman.

The thing about that is it was within 5 yards. That one is actually disputable. The plays in question here are not. They are blatant.

this.

bowman had his hands on him within the 5 yards. when the ball was in the air, he took his hands off of him then made a play on the ball as it got close.
