Haralson is a quality player, he should make the team and play 30-40% of the downs if he still has it.

Haralson is about as underappreciated as it gets. Yeah, he struggles with pass rush but he's an absolute beast against the run. I wasn't all too shocked to see this team struggle more against the run with him out of the lineup this past season. He's started about 70 games with the 49ers, so he's a quality veteran, experienced...along with Fleming coming back, I really don't see the 49ers focusing too much attention on OLB.

I doubt two guys who never played and were lower round picks will unseat a solid veteran in haralson.

Another strong indicator of the quality of our front office. Haralson and Manningham making too much money as reserves coming off of injury, so the front office tells them they need to take a pay cut to stick around. Same way they handle free agents. This what the Niners think you are worth so take it or move on. If Haralson makes the team, his contract will be more cap friendly. Brilliant!

I always liked Haralson, he provides depth and insurance. By traveling with the team and rehabbing in SF last year I'm sure that played a major role in coming back. He'll be way ahead of second year players and draftees.

doubt it. the niners wont break the bank for anyone, this is just a smart move to give them more flexibility.

I could still see Woodson coming onboard for a 1 year deal ($4-5M).
Dahl is depth and a rookie will be added to learn behind Woodson.

We haven't addressed the backup QB situation either. Hasselback or Josh Johnson would be my guess.
I have a feeling the team didn't like Johnson over Tolzien though. A rookie is ideal, but that leaves all of our hopes riding on Tolzien if something we to happen to Kaep.

If he plays around 25% of the snaps, rotating in for both Aldon and Brooks, I will be pleased.
He has not been much at rushing the passer, but he is solid against the run.
If I understand the deal, he will be a free agent next year. Playing well this year will help him find another team, or get a new contract with the 49ers.

He made the right decision considering Manningham restructured after a season ending injury. Hopefully Goodwin can restructure.

We could have said the same thing in 2011 when Alex was the starter and Kaep and Tolzien were backups. I wouldn't sweat it too much yet. Still plenty of vet FAs in the market.

Are the niners making a move for dummerville?
Maybe they say sorry Parys, we will cut you and get Elvil, or restructure. Then restructure Boldin and maybe we have enough for a short term push.
