Interests/Needs (in order of importance IMHO) - Rationale: This is what I had after the FA signings and coming into the draft and here is what we did. These were my priorities in order of importance (check post #1 for more details):
Ring #6 - Duh...we're working on this one and like one draft prognosticator said, "...Baalke is building a dynasty!"
Top Tier FS (may need a & SS as well) - it's safe to say the FO got their man! Reid, come on down. And BTW: can your daughter play to?
Top Tier TE - Roman got HIS man in Vance McDonald. Team also brought in MarQueis Gray as a project as well (see list of UDFA's above).
Top Tier DE - Tomsula just had Christmas with getting Cornellius Carradine, Quinton Dial and a major project in Lawrence Okoye and to a lesser degree, Mike Purcell. He, obviously, has been a good boy all year long!
Top or Second Tier CB - only picking up Marcus Cooper screams to me, "SCHEME is the THEME!" Look for bigger, stronger, taller more physical starting CB's this year to play press more and perhaps, all across the DB lineup. Look for our shiftier CB's to move into the slot to cover the micro-talented WR's of Harvin and Austin. Darryl Morris has a real shot here!
Top or Second Tier NT - well, let's be real here, passing up every single NT in the draft tells me, "SCHEME is the new THEME in 2013!" Look for many more 4-man DL and inside and outside pass rushers.
Second Tier WR - seriously? With AJ red-shirted last year, we're about to see his skill set and THEN we added Patton as well to the mix? Bring it!
Second Tier T - we needed a "swing T" so we got three: Carter Bykowski, Luke Marquardt and we brought back Adam Snyder.
Second Tier C - Patrick Omameh and Sherman Carter were added to compete with our red-shirted Looney and Kilgore. Do we have a potential cut of Goodwin here?
Second Tier OLB - Corey Lemonier was added as an Ahmad Brooks clone.
Second Tier WR/KR - I have read that Patton has addition skills as returning kicks but we didn't pick up a "true" return man here and we still have James/Williams for now. Maybe AJ as well? We also recently picked up WR/KR Chuck Jacobs, Utah State.
Second Tier PK/ST - we are LOADED on ST's now. More additions include Nick Moody to back up Willis/Bowman and hell, we even picked up B.J. Daniels for the PS so the defense can practice against a Russel Wilson clone all year! We also got taller with many of the DE's and additions and have some serious gunners.

You forgot Moss as a loss, but not a big deal.

please take off your "potential cuts" not going to happen (whitner, manningham, goodwin, rogers)

they would have been gone already if they were going to be cut.

also add Soap to your gone peoples

Soap's under the Lost category.

Also, why would all of our cuts be made by now...already done?

Yeah, what NC said. They aren't done yet, not by a long shot.
Good post.

Disagree on Dobbs. We're getting him back - so what! He suckes. If he was of an worth he would have seen a lot more action before his injury than a bit of spot duty.

Agree with NCommand. We've only cut the obvious ones at this point. There will be cap casualties in training camp. I expect Goodwin, Haralson, and Whitner will be on the chopping block in camp. They will only keep their jobs if the young guys we have lined up to replace them aren't up for it yet.

Maybe you're thinking of Tukuafu. Garbage. But Dobbs actually looked pretty good esp. with Aldon playing over him.

We obviously don't rotate much (but we will now though)! And RJF was next man up at either NT/DE.

I think either Dobbs or Tukuafu will be gone... a high pick rookie will replace one or both of them. Last year we Justin, Ray, Sop, RJF, Dobbs, Tukuafu and Ian Williams (7). This year Justin, Ray, Dorsey, Ian, Tukuafu and/or Dobbs, possibly NT draft pick, possibly DE Draft Pick

And really Dobbs and Tukuafu are nice finds... neither cost us a pick but when it comes down to it we are a top team and we have high expectations. Those guys might start on some teams or would definitely be backups but I think we need to upgrade over one of them at least.

I certainly wouldn't object to an upgrade!

I wouldn't cry if Tukluafu got released.
Last year we Justin, Ray, Sop, RJF, Dobbs, Tukuafu and Ian Williams (7). This year Justin, Ray, Dorsey, Ian, Tukuafu and/or Dobbs, possibly NT draft pick, possibly DE Draft Pick. If we go with 7 one probably makes it, 8 both could.

Edit: and to get back on track here are our needs IMO. Really we have a lot of options and we can draft them in a # of different orders.

1. FS
2. CB
3. #2 TE
4. DE
5. NT (only used sop 1/3 of plays so maybe not too high of need)
6. OLB (depends if we keep Haralson and what they think of Fleming)
7. SS (could be drafted after this season)
Lesser Needs: 3rd T, WR, ILB (if gooden or grant is gone), K, 3rd QB, possibly C, possibly 4th RB upgrade over Dixon
