Yes, everyone but willis was banged up, Brooks, Aldon, Bowman, Justin were all injured. So yeah i believe his body just broke down under the long season. Hopefully this shows how bad are depth behind is and that we need more depth so we can rotate in and keep these guys fresh.

Yes. Yes, and Yes again.

This!

I think most of the DEFENSES issues at the end of season were do to the lack of depth, I could be wrong though.
Not at this time.

Obviosly his sack production fell when Justin went out. But he was also double teamed at times AND the opposition can only double team so many guys. Our DLine needs a better rotation which will solve a lot of issues.
As a pass rusing specialist, no he is not overrated. As a three down defender, yes he is overrated. So far.
He evaporated the last 6 weeks of the season (including playoffs). Not a good sign.

If he was injured that badly, he should have sat down.

I'd rather have a healthy RJF.

An injured aldon smith doing his best impression of the invisible man made the 9ers play a 3-3. I'd rather they went 4-3 and figured everything out in the backfield.
I get what your saying but its hard to rotate rjf for cowboy n soap since they were injured as well. Who rotates in to give rjf cowboy and soap a breather?

You watch the games from the beginning of the year and you can see how the dline wore down over time. It is obvious now. If they were playing at the level the were playing at in the first half of the season. We would have won the super bowl hands down. The 9ers would have made the Ravens look like the were a jv team.

Most sacks EVER in a two year span...start thread to determine of Aldon Smith is overrated
He did struggle without justin, but remember he had a shoulder injury at the end of the season and he is still young. He still has a long time till he hangs it up barring injury so he will eventually learn moves to get away from double team and learn to play without Justin. What he did in his first 2 years is down right amazing.

Aldon Smith took home the prestigious Walsh Award in 2012.

The Walsh Award, established in 2004 in honor of San Francisco's Hall of Fame Head Coach, is voted on by the coaches and is given to the 49ers team MVP, honoring his outstanding individual performance.

Even the idiots on the coaching staff overrate Aldon Smith. Get rid of them. They clearly do not understand football.

He actually had that injury lingering since a week or two before the Dolphins game. If that explains how long he may have been dealing with the injury.
Lmao
