Patrick has been my favorite player since his rookie year, but Bow grows on you. He makes plays that win games, and they are spectacular. This question is becoming similar to one in the 80's, who's better Jerry or Joe?

Literally wrote down exactly what I was just about to say.

If we are giving Madden ratings I say Bowman is a 98 and Willis is a 95 just for fun Aldon is a 97 and Brooks is a 93
Even though i keep saying Willis is on a decline, Willis is still faster IMO.

lol i think a lot of us feel this way. i dont really like this conversation, both of them are awesome at what they do and both of them wouldnt be who they are without the other one. willis kind of cleans everything up and it allows Bow to freelance a little bit because hes a little faster I think. both are amazing and we definitely have the top two LBs in all of football playing right next to eachother

Bowman is better. Willis doesn't have the same explosion. Recall how he used to blowup plays all over the place. Now Bowman is doing it.

Until we see how good Bowman is playing without Willis by his side, the answer is Willis.
Remember how good Stubby looked with BY by his side and when he went to the Skins he sucked. Not to say Bowman would suck, but there is a lot to be said for two good players playing together. How much of Bowman's success is bolstered by the presence of Willis?
We did, Willis didn't play in stl vs the Rams and Bow was still a beast.
Oh 1 game is a great sample size....
I'll take Willis but this is a weak argument. Bowman's played 8 games without Willis and stepped his game up even more when that was the case.

love them both, but Bowman is the better linebacker at the moment.
I honestly think Willis is too buff for his own good. Looks robotic out there.

Here are PFF's season ending rankings. They've got Bowman #1 and Willis #2. Willis would've been nearly identical had he played those games he missed. Bowman is a better pass rusher and pass defender, and Willis is better against the run, which should be no real surprise to anyone here. They're still the 2 best and most complete ILB in the NFL.

It started last season that bowman started to be the man. Love Willis though and me or my kids rock his jersey each week.

Willis has missed a few games the last few years. He is not on a decline. They just have different assignments, and I think that is why we see the difference in tackles. Willis still is also absorbing most of the blocks. He's blowing up the line so that bowman can do what he's best at, shadow the QB and make instinctive plays on crossing routes or trailing back, tightens or relievers. Both are playing at an extremely high level.
