Is that it?

Not trying to bash him, but doesn't Smith's salary cause him to get included on this list?
What about Goodwin? He makes a lot considering he is the least good player on the O-line.
Walker? Moss?

Not that I don't like these players, but there are a bunch of players we have to extend/sign, such as Crabtree, Goldson, Brown, Iupati, A Davis.
Still got Goodwin, Mario, Whitner and Alex on the way BrianGo. Just starting.
Once again...Thanks AB83!
Good posts
3 mil in savings if we cut Akers.....I'm lovin that. Draft a rookie and even with the bonus money prorated for Akers, we can prob be locked in at about 1 mil when all said and done....we need that 2 mil or so to get some exstensions signed
nice, another great site to bookmark.
Nice AB. I love you points esp. re: Haralson's salary. That's a lot for a guy who has zero pass rush skills and is a good run defender. That said, you CAN get to the edge on him with speedier backs.

So what we really need for the OLB position is someone who posses excellent edge-sealing run defense AND excellent pass rushing skills. If you can get that in one player, that's fantastic in case Brooks/Aldon go down. If you can get individual skills from two players, they can be rotated in accordingly and they should/would most likely be rookies or (a Johnson/Fleming) that can be groomed into well-rounded OLBers with time.
Short and to the point, loved it.

My biggest thing with Haralson is he hasn't shown up much since 2009 when he was extended, he had a great 08 season, then played sub par to be honest since 2009. $2.87M is a lot of money for a reserve OLB, especially when we need to worry about guys like Iupati, Goldson, A.Davis, Crabtree, etc... I think we would be best served to cut ties, draft a pass rushing OLB in the 2nd or 3rd round, and have Fleming, and Johnson compete for a spot, maybe add a veteran on a 1yr vet minimum deal to compete with them.

I caught something during a Ravens press conference this week where one of the head office guys was speaking about how John runs practices in two groups having the vets on one field and the younger guys on another. It helps in the sense of getting the young guys more reps. As a coach I agree with this concept. The more reps your younger guys can get the better they will be for it. There is no substitute for experience on the football field.
Rogers needs to go. Making way too much for what he did last year.

I'd love to be able to trade Alex for a WR or CB if at all possible. We have plenty of picks.

Akers is an easy decision. See ya.
