kendall hunter's role in the future

The answer could lie in who has more trade value, Hunter, Lattimore, or LMJ?

Nope. 4.46

Says he ran a 4.53 at the combine http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/kendall-hunter?id=2495172

Like I said I like Hunter, but he isn't a 3 down back or a power runner. Yes he avg 4.6 yards, but I would bet it would go down if he was the featured back.

the two kids have proved nothing so far. hunter is a proven back running, catching,, blocking,, special teams both tackling and he can return kicks if need be. that is a pretty big body of work. james is the odd man out here esp if our rookie can return kicks and punts. hunter is not exactly setting around playing checkers thinking he has a spot locked up. i am shocked some people are not trying to invent holes in hunters game like they are with vernon.. when people want someone gone from the niners that is usually the pattern

I think so too. Going into training camp, I think Hunter is the best overall back on the team. That could change by opening day or in the season, but he is a good at everything the team asks the RB's to do.

Right and C.J hasn't been the primary ball carrier and has been hurt and Charles has been hurt as well. I don't see Hunter as the primary back when you have Hyde/lattimore who are bigger and younger. I like all 3 and hope the best man gets the job. What's wrong with playing all 3 next year?
in my madden franchise, Hunter went to the Bucs and is 3rd string!

4.46 combine. 4.56 pro day here http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=69108&draftyear=2011&genpos=RB

Someone had a fat thumb ?
He's had a full season and off-season on his repaired achilles, he's in a contract year and he's got some tough young backs on the depth chart to push him. I think Hunter is going to have a great season doing what he's been doing since he got here . . . which is popping nice chunk plays in key situations and being a key special teams contributor.

Dang. For some reason I mix those two teams up all the time. Thanks for the correction.

of course this is the truth, they will keep gore and hunter, maybe the two kids though that is premature right now. james will not be on this team

Haha who knows! He is quick and I feel his position wouldn't change, which is change of pace back behind gore and going forward I wouldn't expect that to change.

Nobody is questioning whether he's a good player or not or if he can contribute to the team. Do you think he can be a starter or not and what is his role going forward?

Yeah don´t really care either . He is definitely fast / quick enough on the field for the role that he is playing which is, like you said, a change of pace back.

I also don´t expect that to change much in the future. I´m not sure he could handle a full workload like Gore but definitely more than he was asked to do the last two years.

Unless LMJ he has shown the ability to also run between then tackles and looks solid in pass protection which are two of many reasons I would like to see Hunter get an extension rather sooner than later !

Big backs don't get hurt too, or what? Getting injured has nothing to do with size.
I just want to see what roman would do with a true three back rotation. could do a wing t / wild cat even and still have passing be an aspect being able to have kap I'm there. 3-4 running options and a couple pass options. Not a fan of the wing t but roman could think of some variations
Lead back.....for a different team
