It took me 90 minutes to fall asleep the night we lost to the Ravens. I couldn't get that CBS/NFL theme out of my head and kept thinking what if this what if that about the the game! And yesterday was kind of depressing. I feel better today.
I didn't go through this in the loss vs. the Giants.

I'm in my mid 30's so I am lucky enough to have seen the 49ers win championships. The Super Bowl hurt(s) but the Giants loss ripped out my heart. The 9ers played awful for over a half and the defense was complete garbage in the SB. Last year the 49ers lost 4 games by a combined 17 points (or something like that). They were underdogs, Alex Smith was proving everyone wrong, the defense was dominant (unlike the end of this year) and two fumbles on punts and a fumble that should have been (Bradshaw) cost them the game multiple times over. Don't forget a would be interception that Culliver and Goldson (I think) collided on causing the INT to be dropped and Brock to get beat on the Giants next TD.

This isn't even close. Being undefeated in the big game was something special, something that we will never get back...

The Super Bowl loss made me sad but because of the injuries (J Smith) and the QB change mid-season my expectations were not as high. Youth is always a problem in the big games so I expected mistakes...fumble by a rookie and an interception by a QB who had 10 starts? Not bad...just not great. If Manningham, Hunter and Williams were not injured...if J Smith was able to use both arms, if the refs had called the holding when J Smith was being tackled, if...so many ifs!
Team loss--coaches, defense, offense, special teams, cheerleaders...OK, maybe not the cheerleaders!

Super bowl, that holding call was way more obvious than that stop going foward fumble...and we lost it in over time...that one was so close...but we were destroying the ravens in the second half we were the better team we were just not good enough to overcame the officials in that game.

jesus, of course its the super bowl. the nfc title game is only the second most important game you will ever play, I know many people and media in the country are chortling over the fact we lost and we have some humility, f**k them, f**k the ravens, f**k roman and f**k you JH for letting roman call a s**tty series at the end of the game, at least jimmy f**king ray would have known to slam gore or dixon off tackle four times in a row to get 7 f**king lousy yards behind our o lline how can this question be asked with a straight face.
Your def a bandwagon fan! Obviously without Greg Roman and JH we'd be 5-11 or 6-10 as usual. Shush and appreciate the great coaches we have. I hate how it ended but I still am glad they are our coaches and I wouldn't want anyone else

i like your good thinking but for alot of us it will take us a few months to get to that point,, the more you win the more you want to win and the further you go the further you want to go. when it ended the way it did, and there was no reason for it to happen thanks to roman,,, it is going to take a while,, most of us are just sick

Honestly I'm going with the New York loss because I think our team was better last year compared to this year (only because of injuries to our key players).

The Giants loss. They had that game in the bag if Williams had just caught the punt (or at least get out of the way faster).

My thoughts exactly
Team didn't deserve to win after sleep walking for Half the game

The Giants game hurt more because in hindsight it was Alex last shot. I think he should of been the one leading us to the Superbowl this year the outcome would of been different!
