Don't worry Bow. Heal up. Borland will hold it down for you and Willis at the same time. With Borland, we only need 10 men on the field.

Bowman is scheduled to meet with a doctor on Friday to examine his left knee and determine the next steps in his rehabilitation from ACL surgery he underwent in February.

This isn't a good sign. If everything was going well with his recovery, he wouldn't be seeing Dr. Andrews right now. I'm torn between pessimism and optimism here.

The pessimistic view:
This is a sign that Bowman won't be the same. He might play again, but won't be the same.

The optimistic view:
The injury was only about 10 months ago, which isn't enough time to recover. The jury is still out on whether he makes it back 100%.

nasty injury.
if you open up the knee and it looks like pad thai in there, you may not get your knee back. you may get a joint you never trust again. good luck trying to play with that.

Harbaugh said Dr. James Andrews is flying in town today to meet with Bowman.

It's hard as fans b/c earlier in the year we hear these players look to be ahead of schedule, get your hopes up, then you hear of setbacks, more MRI's, swelling, meetings with specialists, etc.

I just pray Bowman can get healthy 100% this year OR by next season. He'll just be that much hungrier and I want his knee 100% ready to take that attitude!

William Floyd lattimore. It happens

I don't think that was the case with Bowman....maybe Lattimore

There's no change to #49ers NaVorro Bowman's status after his visit with Washington team doctor this weekend.

Sounds like we're just taking extensive precautions, Bow means a lot to this team, he may even endure another MRI before he potentially starts a game this season (if that's still on the table).

Jim Harbaugh: No practice for NaVorro Bowman this week, either.
People are looking way to hard into this,
Why do we need to bring him back right now?

We've got a rookie ILB who is having a DROY type of year, its not like we are hurting at that position.
Give Bowman some rest, from the looks of what I've seen our defense will be just fine with or without bow
Put em on the shelf.

Poor guy. f**k sea

People are looking at it hard because he's the best LB in the NFL when healthy (or very close to it). Borland has played well but he's not Bowman, we've given up two 100 yard rushers in the last 3 weeks. Now, a lot of that I think has to do with the fact that both Williams and Dorsey are hurt and Brooks, at least this week s**t the bed a bit playing run D. But Borland got juked out of his shoes at least once by Morris, over-pursued a cpl times as well, made some nice plays and overall has been awesome, but again, he's not Bowman. And how nice would it be to have Borland AND Bowman out there instead of Wilholte?
Id rather give him a rest cause our defense has been solid, rather than a limped up bowman that could get further injured

people dont want him to be rushed in immediately. but, we would like to see him at least practice because that would be a very good sign going into the last qtr of the season

He's not coming back this year. It's still too early in his rehab. Rest him and get him ready for '15.
If he's not 100% don't put him in....the defense isn't in crisis.
