Check the Gameday thread. It's freaking ridiculous. Last page is all you need to see.

For the most part its over. Your looking at the Falcons number 8 ranked offensive line in pass protection against the 49ers 29th ranking. This could've easily been last week if Kaep didn't have record breaking game. Ryan has all day to pick a part the defensive. All we have is Kaep and Gore. It's all won or lost in the trenches.
Same as last year. Hopefully, the organization will wake up next year and do something about it.

Well guys, I wanted to just emphasize the importance of patience and emotional fortitude. We could easily have diarrhea of the mouth and cast our team aside but a lot of us didn't do that, our team didn't do that, they stuck with it and pulled it out. There are many more examples from our posts, same as these, about how we have "lost it" and "suck" and should've done this or that. We are headed to the Super Bowl gentlemen, this is not an "awful season". Show respect to this team, to the game, and to our fellow fans.
GO NINERS!!!!
OK. I would expect as much from Primetime and Taney, both of whom have been riding Alex Smith nvuts since -- well -- does last weekend against the Pack come to mind. I seem to remember Prime calling on Harbs to bench CK7 for Smith when Kaep threw the early pick.
C'mon guys, get real. You're either Niner fans or you're so bored that you're willing to waste hours on this forum. Which is it?
If you're just here to whine, b***h and moan -- I got better ways you can waste time. I really do. I got a yard full of weeds that both you two can start tugging on.
Now is the time to stop arguing and trying to wind each other up. Anyone else posting like this gets suspended until after the Superbowl.
Gods sake people, we won. We got to the big one again at last. Can't you just enjoy that and be fans together for a change?

This win was one of the more impressive playoff performances I've ever seen. It appeared that the 49ers were going to get run out of the Georgia Dome. Kaep was never bothered, shaken, and displayed absolute confidence in his team's ability to come back. He also didn't force trying to run the ball or throwing it to Crabtree. Running lanes were left open for the backs on the read option and they let Vernon Davis run free through their defense. CK took what the defense gave him and the team came back. Highly efficient performance, completing 16 of 21 passes, demonstrated patience, and basically beat the Falcons from the pocket. This is what makes Kaep really dangerous. He can beat you any way a defense tries to play.
The defense also shook off the slow start and totally locked down the Falcons. I told someone we can't cover their receivers, so we are going to have to get to Matt Ryan, which is exactly what the defense began to do as the game went on. We didn't knock him around as much as we did Eli last year in the NFCCG, but it was enough, and about the only way we were going to slow down that offense.
This win showed a lot of grit, resilience, the ability to make adjustments, that we won't force things, and all in all, it was more impressive than the win over Green Bay IMO.

People complain or make fun of Harbaugh, because the media thinks all coachs should act like Beligrinch and just stand there, unflinching like a statue, with a permanent frown on his face like an angry California Raisin.

If we had Manningham, Hunter, and Williams.....score might have been worse.

we're definitely playing with a depleted WR group. LMJ has filled in nicely for Hunter, almost like we didn't miss a step. But at WR, we're basically playing with 1 real threat. Manningham and Williams were the quickest of the bunch.
man, as the game played out, I thought, "OMG, it's gonna come down to an Akers FG."

I think also you have to look at Atlanta. Last week against Seatle, they jumped to an early lead, and in spite of Seatles great secondary, Atlanta was still able to score at will on them with their big three. Atlanta also wilted in the second half and like they had done all year, came back and won anyway.
So, against us they jumped to a big lead, we couldn't stop their big three in the first half, they overplayed Kaep's running, and they tackled better than last week. They still ignored the tightend over the middle, they gave up the running lanes for the running backs, and did self destruct and turn the ball over in the second half.
We tried to exploit their bad tackling early by just throwing the ball out to Crabtree on the line of scrimage and hope he could break a tackle and go, which he did not. We did start running the ball more, and then everything got going and we started our comeback faster than Seatle. We also did not give up the game winning drive like Seatle which fits into our character.
Overall, I think our coaches adjusted really well, exploited what Atlanta gave us and minimized in the second half what Altanta does really well. After getting torched in the first half, they scored no points in the second. Kaep seems to get too excited early and then settles in. He doesn't fumble from center anymore, although he still takes a long time to get the play going, and was flagged twice for delay of game, he has gotten better at that in loud environments.
Baltimore will have it's defense and Flacco playing better than I have ever seen him play, but we will do what we do and I think we will win.

This.
People are saying the read option died today at the Georgia Dome. BS. the read option opened up Gore and LaMichael's running game.
To be clear, it wasn't lost on me at all that much of our RBs' success came on read option plays. Still, I thought CK breaking out for some big plays would be what put us over the top in this game. We won in ways I didn't quite expect.
You take what the defense gives you. Being able to win in so many different ways, is the sign of a great team.
I read CK audibled on 40% of plays. And that doesn't even account for the split-second decisions he made in the read-option. The more I talk myself into it, this game was almost more impressive by CK than last week, particularly on the mental side.
It felt like 90% of the plays.

I believe this was one of the greatest comebacks and defensive stands ever! They completely shut down the falcons in the second half. Yes, the first half was bad, but they bounced back in great fashion!

Re watched the game last night. You can really see how the read option changed the run game. We would leave their edge defender complety unblocked while the tackles went to the second evel. The defender would just stand there and watch Kap as gore ran right past him.
