Speaking of Justin Smith. Here is what he had to say about Aldon.

"Right now, he's No. 1, isn't he?" Justin Smith said. "Nobody has been on a pace for that (many sacks). Right now, he is the guy. You can't rank him with anybody, really."

"Aldon's doing his deal," Justin Smith said. "He's setting records right now. Anytime you have a guy like that, it's going to make your defense that much better. Kudos to him. He's on pace to break (the record). I'm just glad I'm lined up next to him. I'll be able to tell my kids some day."

Aldon Smith is now three sacks from tying Michael Strahan's single-season record. What's noteworthy is that, as an outside linebacker in the 49ers 3-4 scheme, he doesn't rush the passer on every pass play. In fact, Smith dropped into coverage on eight of the Dolphins' 33 pass plays on Sunday. He even covered receiver Devon Bess in the slot a few times.

Smith also whiffed on a potential sack in the third quarter as he blew around the edge and brushed past Ryan Tannehill. If he comes up short on the hunt for Strahan's record, that opportunity will loom large.

Man, if they try to focus on one guy against our defense they will get someone killed. Starting with T. Brady! You double and triple team Aldon and we start sending Brook, Willis, & Bowman! You try to max protect and just imagine Wittner or Goldson getting a 7-10 yard run at Brady before they hit him!

I like this point. Aldon could be a major decoy in the next two weeks as the rest of our defense dominates.

I'd rather win those two games than see Aldon get the record as we lose one or two. I bet NE doesn't concern themselves trying to stop him, and is ok if he gets a couple. However, Pete Carroll is dumb and will probably focus more on stopping Aldon then doing what's in his teams best interest.

I predict Aldon gets 2-3 on Brady, but NE puts up 20+. In seattle, Aldon doesn't get one but our defense hold Seattle to under 10.

HA! ... where do you guys find these, I'm cracking up watching this over and over.

I was surprised they didn't even acknowledge Aldon breaking Fred Dean's record at Candlestick yesterday. I felt like I was the only one who knew.
