Is Alex Boone at Guard the best roster move this year, so far?

Is Alex Boone, at Guard, the best roster move this year, so far? If not, what is?

Here's a couple other ones that I like:
  • Mario Manningham at Wide Receiver
  • Aldon Smith to starting Outside Linebacker
  • Will Tukuafu to back-up Fullback

The best.. yes, I'd say for sure. He is doing very well and making both C and RT better also.
He and Davis will end up being the best right side tandeum in the league soon......Both are nasty, athletic and powerful.
Yes closely followed by Manningham to WR.
I have to go with Boone. This offensive line looks completely different line this year. Aldon Smith is handling the transition well. I'd actually like for us to draft a guy at OLB and play the role that Smith did last year- a pure pass rushing specialist on 3rd down. Either that, or a few more blitzes by the LBs. We have the athleticism at that position to get even more than we have out of that group.

I'm very pleased with the way Aldon is playing. He's such an asset to have. I would deff love to draft just a pass rusher as well to play on 3rd downs

Yeah i Agree...but who do we sit down on 3rd down? Or do you just do it on really obvious passing downs?

Good question all depends on whos playing hot that game maybe? Brooks or Aldon? IDK
Yes he is. I like watching him running out in front of Gore and when Gore stumbles Boone has been there to snatch him up and shove him forward for extra yards. Seen that a few times and love it!!! He's done the same to save a few sacks too. Just his general attitude is awesome. Heck of a football player.
He must be playing alright because i never hear his name called during the games.
Boone is the BEST move so far. Manningham comes in second.

The whole line has benefited from Boone's performance. It has opened up play-calling since he can actually run block and pass protect.

Imagine how good he'll be w/a full season under his belt

Next move is to groom a quality back-up fro Staley and for ADavis. I know people are saying Kilgore to Center, Looney to RG and Boone to LT.

Still we'll need someone to be a quqlity back-up.
I would say boone is our best unexpected move. For the money he's getting paid probably our best move.
Hard to justify taking either of our OLBs off the field, but to have a guy like Smith and another specialist on the other end coming at you, it could be hell on opposing offenses. I'd just like some quality backups that can give Brooks and/or Aldon Smith a breather every now and again.

Watch Boone go up-field on blocks. He and Davis "block out the sun".
I have to agree with most of you that are saying Boone is the best roster move. Consider what we got rid of and what he replaced......Snyder. Credit to Boone for turning his life aroound and making it. I root for him. Manningham could have made a better run at it, but I think the WR position has been mismanaged a bit, ala, the rotation approach (which doesn't allow for that very critical chemistry).
