Out of those listed WR, IMO, I put Crabs at the bottom
Crabtree is not in the same tier as the mentioned players above

Nice work woth those stats Quest4six. I edited them out of my response to make it clearer.

First off, that FA list was in no particular order but lets do this for fun.

I have to disagree with you.

Given the fact that Crabtree + Kaepernick only played 18 games together I´m interested in the last 18 games those players actually played.

Demaryius Thomas
caught 115 passes for 1,575 yrds and 15 touchdowns.

Dez Bryant
caught 106 passes for 1,528 yrds and 15 touchdowns.

Jordy Nelson
caught 97 passes for 1,422 yrds and 9 touchdowns.

Michael Crabtree
caught 95 passes for 1,376 yrds and 9 touchdowns.

Torrey Smith
caught 71 passes for 1,232 yrds and 4 touchdowns.

Wes Welker
caught 107 passes for 1,186 yrds and 12 touchdowns.

Randall Cobb
caught 80 passes for 1,123 yrds and 11 touchdowns.

Hakeem Nicks
caught 73 passes for 1,123 yrds and 2 touchdowns.

Roddy White
caught 90 passes for 1,098 yrds and 6 touchdowns.

Jeremy Maclin
caught 85 passes for 1,091 yrds and 8 touchdwons.

I woiuld say with Kaepernick as his QB, Crabtree is definitely in the same tier.

I do think that Crabs is better with Kaep than with Smith. Solid points there
Wow, those are some interesting numbers, good post

But one of the things that isn't included on there is Crab's injuries.
When Crabtree is healthy, I have no problem paying him 7-9 mil a year. A healthy Crabs is a guy you can build an offense around.
That is a big IF though.

I'm no GM, nor am I great at understanding how the salary cap works (looks like hieroglyphics to me)
But I think the perfect contract for Crabs is something short-term with lots of bonuses and incentives
Example,
1-2yr deal, 6mil guaranteed with a ceiling of 8mil (dependent on how many games he plays)
I like that deal because I think when he is on the field he is productive (your stats proved that) but him getting on the field is the issue (my stats proved that)

Sucks we can't afford Crabs next year

2015 should look something like this:
Boldin
Johnson
Patton
Ellington

Should have been:

Boldin
Johnson
Patton
Mathews/Robinson/Latimer (one of the three)

is johnson gonna be available? dudes a beast. niners probably wont spend top dollar on crabs but an aging vet who is still a stud is what the niners have been signing in recent offseasons. i would not mind having andre, boldin and stevie next year if crabs cuts on us

240rec, 3698 yards, and 34 tds
On average that is

Jordy Nelson past 4 seasons have totaled

^
This year includes his rookie year

Not including Cobb or Nicks because both have external circumstances (short NFL career, injuries)

Now lets look at Crabs

Michael Crabtree past 4 seasons have totaled
245 rec, 3004 yards, and 20 tds
On average that is
61, 751, 5 per season

Great stuff. I totally agree.

But take away the numbers and go off pure ability. He is better than several on that list. And that might be the argument that Crabs agents have. They will claim that those numbers are a product of a pure offense in SF for his first few years.

That is a big IF though.

I would say it is a small if.

Prior to last year, Crabtree missed one game because of injuries.

In 2011, Crabtree played in 15 regular season games.

In his career, Crabtree has missed 12 games because of injury.

In comparison, Demariyus Thomas has missed 11 games in his career. Thomas missed 6 games in 2010 and 5 games in 2011.

We'll see if the office is serious about keeping Crabtree in the fold and they extend him now or do they wait until 2015.

Could see something getting worked on or done soon now that Kaepernick is done.

Matt Barrows tweeted this:

Kaepernick has a low-low salary-cap number in 2014, which may mean the #49ers will try to do another extension this year.
Why isn't DJax on anyone's list for top wr's. O wait he went to the redskins where careers die but you get more money than you would else where.
So in your guys opinion what would be a fair deal for both Crabtree and the Niners?
