Crabtree is night and day better than Holmes. Don't get that comparison at all. He's a different breed of receiver. He's a possession receiver with a very good blend of quickness and size. He's not a burner but has unusual quick twitch moves for man of his size. Very good underneath receiver. Elite #1 receiver worthy of 8+ million per season? Not in my opinion but who knows maybe a full offseason and him getting back to 100% heathy will change my mind.

Crabtree's earnings in 2015 will be somewhat dependent on this year's draft class. If players like Watkins, Evans, Moncrief, and Lee emerge as legit #1 receivers, then I don't think teams will open their wallets to Crabtree - especially with the Jackson and Wallace fiascoes going on right now.
Golden Tate was the biggest WR deal this offseason 5 year, 31M. 49ers can afford that type of deal!

If Crabtree wants to get paid big, he needs to reproduce his 2012 season at minimum. He can't be missing game after game and ask for trump tower and the east wing of the White House. Needs to prove he can stay healthy for longer than 1 season. He's a good player, and we know how awful Kaep was without him for a majority of the season. Put up or shut up Mike, now.

He's going to be demanding a hell of a lot more than that and he definitely deserves significantly more than Golden Tate.

I think he can be worth $9 million when healthyOriginally posted by NinerG94:Crabtree is night and day better than Holmes. Don't get that comparison at all. He's a different breed of receiver. he'll get paid but his body of work doesnt warrant any ridiculous contract. he had one very good year and bunch of injury riddled seasons. he'll have to have a monster year this year to get paid fat i think and i hope he does but we will see. i still think he'll be a niner for a while. he and kap are good together and we dont develop WRs very well so it would be wise to hold on to him if hes proven he and kap work well together.

He's going to be demanding a higher deal, but will teams provide that type of cash his way?

The only thing I can't stand about the current culture of the nfl is that players feel like they can say "I want 80 million because I believe I'm the best on my team". I wish I could go to my boss and say I want 25$ an hour.
Crabtree already held out once,...he'll probably do it again.

He won't hold out but he may go to the highest bidder! Crab had matured a great deal but yet still he will want to be paid especially after we pay Kap!

Does anyone else wish that he actually stayed away from OTAs? lol. I don't want him getting injured in voluntary practices, especially with his history. I know anyone can get a freak unfortunate injury and it really worries me. Hope everyone stays healthy. I just wish we could turn injuries off like in Madden.

Crabtree is on the field for Organzied Team Activities, but the veteran receiver is taking a careful approach after tearing his Achilles a year ago during the voluntary workouts. "Michael practiced a good portion of the workout," Jim Harbaugh said on Wednesday. "There's a plan in place for him."Crabtree didn't take part in 7-on-7 or team periods that were open to the media. Not to worry, says the 49ers head coach. It's all by design.
"(He was) more limited than some of the other receivers that we have, but I think our medical staff and Michael and we as coaches, are taking a smart approach."

This tells me that Harbaugh knows exactly how important Crabtree is to this team. If Crabtree plays well this season we just might ... might be apt to retain his services after all. It must have been a real wye opener last year with Crabtree out more than half the seasonOriginally posted by lamontb:Originally posted by pwillis52beasty:double post

I really can't believe how resigned people are here to the supposed "fact" that "we're going to lose Crabs" after this year... I understand its a very real possibility, I just think after what we went through with WRs for the last TEN YEARS(!!!) people seem a little too eager to see Crabtree go... In my opinion its classic Whiner behavior.... people whine about him holding out his rookie year, whine about him being "slow," whine about the times he's been injured. And act like he's NOT a baller or something when he's out there. The guy is a baller. The guy makes it happen on the field. I can't wait to see him go off this year! And really hope we can get him signed. Cause him and Kap for the next 5-6 years? Are you serious?! How could you NOT want to see that if you're a Niner fan, lol.
