• Patrick Willis was named Defensive Player of the Week after the 49ers' 34-0 win over the Jets, the fourth time he was won that award. Said Willis: "Anytime I win an award, I want to start by thanking my teammates. Especially that front seven. I'll say it again, I don't think I'd be half the guy I am today without those guys."Read more here: http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archives/2012/10/security-breach-harbaugh-reveals-f-soft-infiltrated-49ers-facility.html#storylink=cpy

This I agree with. Not sure about passrushing though. Willis has had a good season rushing the passer in the past, Bowman has yet to really show anything.

Can anyone who has re-watched the game, particularly the defense offer a take on this? I noticed a couple times Patrick blitzed. Now he didn't really get to the QB but he did a great job of hitting the hole he was supposed to and forcing his defender back. It crossed my mind during the game that he looked much more solid out there at blitzing. Picking his spots, hesitating and then firing. I noticed earlier in his career that this really was never one of his strengths. He kind of looked, I dunno, a little lost, or hesitant is a better word out there while running certain blitzes. Not sure if I'm right on that assumption but I think maybe I am.
As I said I have only watched the game once, just an impression I got, and one that I've had I guess.

We dont talk about Patrick Willis enough.. he is still beasting with vicious intent. His 7 tackles Last week were all reminisent Retro and Still...tro PATRICK WILLIS at his finest. Averaging 8 tackles a game hes on pace for a credible 144 comming up, although, well short of his rookie season when he averaged 10 tackles a game but that doesnt matter when you RealiZe the talent surrounding him. Look to see Him get some good nasty pressure on eLI this week as he did in last years nfccGAME.
