I just like Bowman and Willis together so much. I'd rather have them. But Goldson is a g but I'm sure there are a ton of safeties that would love to play for us without holding out all offseason. I don't know what to think lol. I just want all of them!

Obviously the first was conjecture, the second was factual. No knockout, just a foolish attempt to make a nonsensical point.

So we have the best safety tandem in the NFL, do we also have the best CB triplets in the NFL? I HIGHLY doubt I'd trade Rogers/Brown/Culliver for any other team's 3...not even close. And Culliver is filthy, he would start for probably any other team and would be the best CB on a ton of teams too. So we have the best safety duo in the NFL and the best CB trio...which makes us clearly having the best secondary. We got the best front 7 by far, you can break it down further by saying best DL and best LB corps (which you can further breal down by saying by far best ILB duo and probably best OLB duo too lol)...it's GOOFY how ridiculous our D is...best in league at every specific unit

No need to get flustered.

There's a difference between what Ronnie said about Goldson and Mays. One guy in Goldson where Ronnie played the postion and sees some of the really good plays from Goldson. It's evident. While the other guy in Mays, Ronnie was more likely projecting the potential into the NFL field. He's right on Goldson, he's wrong on Mays. Ronnie knows safety play and recognized it in Goldson. Ronnie just doesn't know draft picks.
Being wrong on Mays does not correlate to being wrong on Goldson.
Never said he was wrong. The point is, he's not infallable when it comes to his assesment of talent. Many HOFs and good players have made for poor talent evaluators and coaches. Sing didn't even think we should draft Willis....and he's about as HOF as they come. Anyways, it doesn't take a HOFer to tell me a Pro Bowl player and key piece of an elite defense should be extended...lol. Its good to hear him say it, but its basically a non-factor, especially because he probably knows Goldson very well.... But again, I agree with him.

It's just an article and an opinion from Ronnie Lott. Some fans (especially the ardent fans of Goldson) here may find it an interesting read. Silly to make anything more than that out of it.
I'd like to keep Goldson here too, but I want Bowman here more.

No you didn't say it, but the implication was there for any reader to connect the dots. It's all good though, I just want to point out the subtle difference between his opinions in Lotts' defense.

I only posted a follow up article to yours because I thought it was funny....didn't think about it much more than that.

No, I found your article interesting actually. I had completely forgotten about the Taylor Mays comments from Lott.
( not that his opinion is gold or anything )

You sure about that? Most expressed that he was a good safety, but had flaws and a younger option might be a better idea than throwing a ton of guaranteed money at him. ... and somehow the underlined gets stretched, twisted, and transformed into "he iz teh suxxorz."

nteresting article on PFF.http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/03/02/playing-tag-dashon-goldson/I think we have decent depth incase he doesnt sign. I think our front office also know that he's not a big factor of our elite defense. He doesnt quite fit onto our "blue collar" theme. Seems like a trouble maker to me.Question is, who is the best player to replace him? I'm not comfortable with playing a rookie in a FS. Maybe culliver moves over? Thoughts?

No, he's not worth #1, or top 5. He's a top 20 safety maaaybeee.... He's not even the best safety on our team!

i just thought this was funny. Nelms/Holcomb or Spilman can not replace Goldson lol

Goldson is an elite safety IMO, no doubt.
His support in the run game this year has been OUTSTANDING. His coverage skills are also excellent.
I don't understand why fans on this website underrate him so much.
