I don't think people pay much attention to a linemen unless they sack the QB or miss a tackle. Last year in preseason and regular season when he got time in the games, Aldon seem to do well when they were teamed together, occupies the opponents OL to let the others get the glory, just like Sop when they are in 3-4.

Its hard to get playing time and recog when a guy like Justin Smith is in front of you. remember, you don't see it (everything), but the coaches do. I figure you are like the rest of us and you don't really study film. Plus this year, when you split time doing other things, you don't get to work or play/practice your main position as much. I doubt you thought Sop would catch a pass either last year.

Yep. Thanks... and I did like Manny for his play, but he did lack that one thing you must have from a rush LB.. closing burst to the QB. Manny was fast around the edge... played great in coverage and run D... but when an OT got a piece of him? He couldn't finish his path to the QB. That's a killer for a rush LB... though at least some of those times, he forced the QBs to shift in the pocket.

I assume you are asking for Dobbs in preseason? If so, I surely do not.

A guy who can play multiple positions, especially on both offense and defense is a coach's dream. Obviously you don't see the value he has that our coaches do...you're entitled to your opinion, but I'll accept the coaches' experience in knowing who's a keeper and who isn't.

I thought that multiple times I read or heard on TV that he was coming in on third downs? Probably just for preseason, but I could have sworn that they said he was going to be doing that too.

Why would JH use him in practice but not in preseason. Secret weapon.

He seems to dominate when playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers and really that is what you want to see out of your backups

okay do you have a stat about how many qb pressures he had?

Aldon Smith dominated against 2nd and 3rd stringers at this point last year. Would you have said the same thing about him? Dobbs might not be quite as disruptive as Aldon was, but he has been pretty darn disruptive in the preseason. You don't need a stat line, just watch him play.
