Josh Johnson will be our 4th OLB, too.

Of course there is a chance, there always is. It would make me sick to keep 4 qb's, because that means you have zero faith in the starter or the #2 or #3.
Josh Johnson should be cut. Harbaugh has shown no favoritism to players he knows, so I think JJ is a goner.

Johnson has shown the exact same up-and-down ability. Nice throw here, bad overthrow there and we have a body of work to prove it. He's gone IMHO. Tolzien, to me is STILL the 2nd best option of Alex goes down and he's gotten better and better each day since we acquired him (plus Baalke loves the guy). I couldn't believe how much Bradshaw and Aikman were talking him up during the game. They, like all of us, see something in him; those intangibles. At the end of the day, you, as a fan, have to ask yourself, if Alex goes down today (and it's likely with this OL), who could come in right now and give you the best chance to win? If you are objective, the answer would be Tolzien b/c of his command of the offense, the huddle, his style is exactly like Alex, the OC wouldn't have to change a thing re: game plans, etc. The Kaep'r has shown great athletic ability but you can see how different Roman calls plays for Alex/Tolzien vs. CK. The OL has to block differently, timing is very different for the WR on their routes, etc. He's still a year or two away from being a pocket passer IMHO but if he gets there, look out!

No offense buck, but those stats are skewed. I've watched Tolzien's third string WRs drop plenty of balls, that is if the Niners even had WRs in when they throw the ball (often times its RB split out wide and blocking TEs).
I'm not anti-stats, but the more I watch football and then see the stats after the game, I realize how decieving they can be.
